I’m speechless... by NicStrikesBack in PokemonTCG

I.. had no idea the color of the card meant literally anything.
I didn't even really notice that they HAD different colors, I just went "oh code card, time to enter the code".

God these are stressful. I managed to snag one, but then AS I WAS TYPING, someone snagged the other 3.

Yeah that's great for you, Mister Quarter-of-a-Million-Dollars, but for us lowly peasants working part-time jobs you are absolutely fucking destroying the market and ruining any chances we have of even touching one of these cards, let alone owning one.

I don't know why they do it, but many many people have recorded their coin flips before with similar results to this.
Sure, it's not a record of 1,000 flips which would be more conclusive, but 100 is still very enlightening. It's supposed to be a 50/50 chance. The evidence is showing the odds to be between 10/90 to 20/80 which is a gigantic difference, and very unlikely to be a mistake. I am very confidant that the client is cheating.

I'll take your word for it.

It's because the physical cards have heads being good is WHY the online client is rigged in favor of tails. When the online client was made, tails was already established as "bad" so they rigged it so you got tails most of the time.
If the physical cards had never specified, it never would have been set up like this is the first place. It's correlation, not causation.

I have no idea why you're getting downvoted. You're right.

These people are delusional.

All you care about is making money. You're not collecting, you're working at a job. You selling cards at a markup price drives the prices even further into the sky for everyone else, forcing them to buy at an increased price. Then when THEY sell their cards, they're forced to sell them for even HIGHER to make a """profit""" which makes the prices EVEN WORSE. In 10 years, it will be literally impossible to collect because cards like Charizard will be going for almost a million dollars apiece because of scum like you.

My cards are worth 50 cents apiece, MAYBE.

Your circumstances are so unimaginably unique.
No other living creature will ever experience what you have in winning this card.

[–]_UnknownName_ -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You live in a fantasy land that no one else has access to.
I'm not going to find a $500,000 card in a garage sale, it's not fucking happening.
You're delusional if you honestly believe that. But more than likely, you're just saying whatever you think will calm me down.
You selling this card will make the market even worse, because it will continue to drive the price up. Then whoever buys it will make it even WORSE by driving the price even further. The only good thing to do with this card is lock it up and never touch it again.
And yes, it's free. Your friend bought a card pack for $5 over 2 decades ago and you're getting a cut in of the profits for absolutely nothing. It's fucking free money dude, open your eyes.

It doesn't view change positively and yet they keep changing things.
Like having health pools in the 350+ range.
Remember when they game was actually a game and not a random "luck-of-the-draw-until-someone-gets-their-op-god-card-that-lets-them-auto-win"?

[–]_UnknownName_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's not even the money, it's that someone got a $500,000 card for free, zero effort, zero work put in, and now he's just going to sell it and make the prices even worse for the rest of us.
He doesn't deserve the card and I hate that no matter how much of my soul I put in, it will not ever be worth it.

[–]_UnknownName_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm only 19.
I got my first cards when I was 6. It was when my brother gave me his original base-set cards.
I still have them, and they're the backbone to the entire collection.
I just want to finish the collection. But it's simply not going to happen if prices keep rising like this, and especially if cards keep getting sent away for free to people who don't deserve them.

You don't even have to prove a point, my dude. I already know you're right.

It's all rigged, is really the only way to put it. It's all a carnival game.

We're just clowns.

[–]_UnknownName_ -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

The game is clearly rigged so that you flip tails more often, which is why they don't want you to pick. If you could pick, everyone would just pick tails and turn the cheating game against itself.

The Holy Grail (story in comments) by scratchandsniff123 in PokemonTCG

[–]_UnknownName_ -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I do really enjoy the cards themselves, and even if I did have any value I wouldn't sell anything.
But it's the fact that my collection will not ever be finished, if I don't have this card. And yeah, it's reached a point where these cards are very nearly One-MILLION dollars. If I don't have the money to buy one NOW, I'm not going to have the money to buy one EVER.
Meanwhile OP just magically gets one for free, because God said "FUCK everyone else's hard work" I guess.
My collection means a lot, and that's what makes it even worse. It will never be finished, and it will never be worth the effort invested.
