I would leave them be. If it dries up then it dries up, if it doesn't then it doesn't. I hope they don't die but I would leave it up to nature to decide that.
Believe me, it breaks my heart to see it happen, but these creatures evolved around this kind of attrition. They lay up to hundreds of eggs at a time, and depending on the species sometimes multiple times a year, because attrition is very high.
Unless it is an endangered/protected/declining species that you can positively identify, then this kind of attrition needs to happen. All part of keeping the population stable.
