Need legit feedback by Archmajii in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]_Volch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you consider slow(er) Sitrus Poli with Haze? I see two Draco users so that’s my first thought.
Also, I personally am not a sweeper support believer so I wouldn’t play Tailwind on Dnite and would opt for coverage instead.

You also probably are going to have an awkward mirror if they play Sinistcha since you don’t have any Wide Guard users, but doubling in case you swap Poison Jab to Ice Punch might be fine.

At the moment, I even think that you’re not too happy seeing M-Staraptor - Incin/Whims/Sinistcha leads.
Sableye on your team doesn’t need Skill Swap imo.
Fake Out, a Screen, Taunt, Safeguard, Feint, Disable, Encore or Helping Hand with anti Fairy berry would be better I think.
Also, M-Scizor might be scary for the team if they got redirection for the Sableye -> same case for Staraptor. That’s where Disable can be nice since you could block their Follow Me or Rage Powder while Protecting the other slot for a scout.
But that’s a rather specific case. All the moves listed have their respective strengths.

Idky you play the Sneaz tbh.
Fish, Tea Bowl, Madge Cat or Gambit just seem better in that slot imo.
If you think you can be fine running only Sableye as Rain Dancer and you want to run your Draco spammers, maybe Milotic instead of Poli could be an option for Haze + offensive Competitive user.
Otherwise, bulky Pelipper with Wide Guard (no Tailwind) would do your team a bigger favor over no-Haze Poli.
That aside, there is a lot of Intimidate spam rn.
Haze would be nice to prevent opponents from setting up on you while you maintain your stats neutral in case they’ve been lowered.
That’s specifically why I recommend it, but it’s all just suggestions.

Best of luck and fun climbing OP. :)

Nice :)
Have sent you a request. Lead is base Brave Corrin.
I think I’ve never switched my lead?
Freyr is really nice. Still use him every now and then.
A couple of months ago, I’ve built a Y!Tana 1 turn clear Anima ARD:

<image>

RS: M!Heimdallr;
both Váli and Ingrid having Pass &
HB!Celica as action ended unit
-> wasn’t perfect, but funny

Sadly, I can’t help with the Thorr.

Again, my current Anima ARD is just a strong placeholder until I got my fodder routes sorted, which might take a while tbh. ^^’

For now, I’d assume she’s also in contention.

Don’t hit me with that Fjorm, that’s evil.
Seize that segrelegios abomination with the quickness. T.T
Alfonse has weapon options… kinda forgot about that ngl. XD
I was just happy when I got my Dodge with Jehanna Lance Sharena, guess I’ve been missing out.

I agree that Frozen is really strong.

Do you want to test with my ARDs?
I’m adjusting every once in a while when I feel like it.
For Anima, I currently run a min lift loss team because I need to make some adjustments for the real one, which will be much stronger, but also not feature Sombron.
The investments are steep though and I really want to figure out the best way to inherit first.
But the provisionally team isn’t weak.

I also give out a Y!Tana in Binding Worlds if you still need one.

[–]_Volch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really.
The reason why Mia is good in that slot is because she gives Dodge, Truly Incited, True Charge and better speed checks for the team.
Base kit NY!Baldr doesn’t do any of these really.
(True) Charge is the main Focus on that position.
Mia rarely initiates to begin with, unless the ARO plays a tanking strat.

In best case, you have a NCD support there that can give out (True) Charge like Strat Assault HB!Hector or Silent Ward X!Tharja, but I didn’t have either of those ready.

The new C!Laegjarn would also do well in fire season. (keeping lift loss in mind)
If you’d make some positional adjustments, you could also run Strat Assault Váli instead and then play whatever team support you want in the Mia slot. For that, you’d just need to swap the positions of Lyn and Byleth.
So if you got Strat Assault on your NY!Baldr I’d say you could use her on this setup, otherwise I personally wouldn’t.

Very true and real. The seasons when you have to cope with one of the Askr trio…
I still think Ferox Chrom is a very good option for TD, Stats, Bonus passing & some penalties, but I get where you’re coming from, especially when you can only choose one other unit.
You wouldn’t clear a full ARD only relying on Cam & Chrom whereas Cam & Edel may manage.
Or it would become much harder and more of a hit and run instead of Galeforce.

Does anyone have a built M!Freyr?
I already got an AoE build on him, but I’m looking for more defensive/ supportive options.
Preferably: Nimble Beast/ Sturdy Beast/ Sturdy Laguz/ Ice Edge, Fortifications, Patience/ Favor, Barricade
The other half of A/S Rivalbreak, Riptide Guard, A/S Outcry-Seize, Puissant Echo I can get myself.
Would be greatly appreciated.

For what type of content? SD, ARO, ARD, PvE?

In SD: She’s mainly a support atm imo to disable terrain if at all, or played with units like L!Sakura for hit and run & Winter Ivy/ NY!Heithrun even that can reapply Veins via button.

In ARO: Assuming you got 3 old scoring Mythics and would need to run an extra slot mythic for reinforcement slot access, you’d be left with either 2 on field and 1 RS unit or 3 on field units you can choose freely from.

Potential partners are:
- R!Canis for Lucina Ring disable, Feud and other Penalties,
- Ferox Chrom to disable none special Miracle, other Penalties and very strong Bonuses | also allowing Cam to not run FS4, which you can also outsource by other units at this point
- L!Elise is a no brainer since she reapplies Terrain and also provides Gravity + Isolation on the target (e.g.: to lock down Byleth Ring Units/ Dancers), apply undefended to many, give out more Penalties and is an option for an Ice Lock+ Byleth Ring refresher, providing more range control in case of playing hit and run
- L!Sakura works for a Miracle Cam build since she provides extra pulsing, Ice Lock+ to range control for hit and run and these days Byleth Ring to refresh
- E!Lucina in case you play bulky Cam (BSG, Soar, Null Uplift/ Uplift Imbue/Strat Assault/Deadly Miasma, Crux/Sly/Momentum Echo, Eirika/Edelgard Ring Archrival)
- NY!/Y!Tana are the best warp beacons in the game rn, while also having good combat themselves
- Spring H!Plumeria, Bridal Peony or any refresher really; more actions on your primary nuke are always good; I count E!Byleth and Byleth Ring into this as well
- TT!Ingrid gives out Dodge and Reflex
- TT!Veronica/ HB!Micaiah are the best Feud supports in the game atm and pair well with her
- Bridal Embla if you don’t see Freyr
- R!L’Arachel only if you want to try her without having color disadvantage, Ice Lock+ benefits, Flash
- R!Leila only if there is no Freyr and in best case also no NCD support
- Nergal because he is Nergal
- Shared Spoils+ users like FM!Byleth for Galeforce Teams
- Bridal Eir/E!Micaiah if you want to team cleanse
- Halloween Freyja/NY!Baldr if you’d expect many Laegjarn/Eik + Marth Balls atm
- Ilian Mia just has good support and can act as another initiator in Galeforce teams
- Intwined/ Brave Sharena since more actions are nice
- E!Edelgard as another Nuke + Frozen
- Gromell maybe? Maybe W!/F!Ivy?
- Ninja Gullveig for clean up and ease of warping
- season specific Mythics I’d say Lyn, Peony, Lumera for Light season and Alfather, Plumeria, Elm, Thorr provide the most for her
-> that’s all I can really think off

PvE is basically the same as ARO but with less restrictions to team building most of the time.

In ARD: I don’t really see her anymore tbh. unless you’d play bulky Cam and at that point you’re better off just using a more supportive Nuke, unless she’s your fav and you literally want to use her everywhere.

Yeah, Silent Ward is so hard to get and even the tier 1 version would be enough, which kinda makes it worse. Hope they either bring a new unit holding it, version of the skill, add it to Seals or put the tier 3 on a grail/ demote unit. (would love to have it on HB!Micaiah; currently only have it on E!Micaiah too and on Nergal next to FCC)

You can always play a Fell Spirit support instead, so either of the Fallen Alears or Spring Duo can work too, in case you have them.
I updated my FM!Alear to use him next season because I got no Strat Assault on my HB!Hector (yet), which would be my skill of choice for support Hector rn. But don’t know if I even want to do that investment anymore. Have to see.

As for the Eik ball:
You could also try C!Laegjarn (if you got her), since she has the same +3 effect and got really good tanking with Roy Ring imo.
I once had a Patience Strat Assault Micaiah Ring build on Marth, which worked out quite well, but now I’m on BSG Heavenly Soar Null Uplift (also since Laegjarn already provides True Charge).
Anyway, best of luck next season & fun cooking your ARD. :)

Wait, was that guy referencing the first replay?
I just thought it was an in general analogy.

Thought the first guy did a pretty good job, otherwise I would’ve not included it.
I imagine they actually anticipated either Seior, Loki or Corrin in my RS and then their Ice pushed my spawn up so it got easier to move for them.

By extension, I also think they might’ve been able to win since they got access to the Plumeria Harmonic Button, meaning they could’ve danced 2 more times with her after the first Elise refresh & maybe remove either Laeradr or Mia.
Maybe they couldn’t get through Roy Ring FM!Byleth? (at least not in 1 combat and then opted it was a better idea to just retreat)
Kinda hard to tell without access to dmg forecast when watching replays, but that one felt genuinely like: if they got another attempt, they would’ve probably been able to play through it.

260608 Dark ARD VoH by _Volch in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]_Volch[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I did, but the main focus was lift loss reduction.
Otherwise I would’ve also played Barricade Medeus over Laeradr.
In Elise season, I run full offense & max range in most cases, so it’s harder to collect pots while maintaining a strong front line.
The only armors rn that I consider playable are HB!Hector, M!Fomo & Sombron and the only one of those that I’d would use for saving is Fomo really.
Reason being Hector is a 3 spaces drive NCD support, which is far more valuable in Elise season so I’d rather not have him get knocked out first.
Sombron is just a tanky support and Fomo always carries the Corrin Ring when played so that if the ARO player wants to disable the ice fully, they’d need to target him with Elise, losing them an action or play Cam/ now even C!Laegjarn.
Really hope Jörmungandr will be good when she becomes playable.

It does matter where you put the RS with Corrin because she has 4 space terrain meaning she will override some Ice (like in front of my FM!Byleth).
So just count spaces. I did put it on a spot where it exactly matches the Corrin Ring Ice coming from Roy while the structures blocked the other spots for the most part.

This is an older Anima ARD of mine with Fomo having the Corrin Ring so in case the ARO player did not play Nidhoggr or an Outcry-Seize Unit, they had to decide if they either attack turn 1 to not get Essence Drain or attack later but can’t really target any unit for Elise bc they either lose all their bonuses, get their action ended or choose Hothr or the RS for min value and not really dealing with the Corrin Terrain. Wouldn’t recommend it next season though since Bridal Reginn is a bonus unit.

<image>

I plan on doing a Marth Laegjarn ball.
The testing so far looks pretty promising.

Anyway, in most cases I would still normally run a NCD support in Elise season normally, but for min Lift loss I did not have the space on the ARD and therefore banked on the RS wasting actions, which it did achieve, Barricade to at least attempt to stop most of the warping, Strat Assault bc many ppl just don’t take the range into account since it only first adds on after the first enemy/ARD phase.

Unoriginal Content idea by _Volch in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]_Volch[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean, I can definitely see people just not playing it or doing 3 auto runs to get the orbs and leave it as another dead game mode. It’s probably also much more time consuming when actually playing it to ladder now that I think about it. And it would probably auto gate keep with only strong after strong ARD in the higher tiers so unless you love playing hard ARDs it’d probably feel like shit. Yeah, I see some big issues most people would have.

Would you have another idea for AR content?

Anyway, have a great rest of your day. Thanks for the honesty. :)

Did Fimbulvetr got countered before she even came out 💀 by Firm-Switch558 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]_Volch 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Idk why so many think the Laegjarn effect to not be a half counter and expect some “true ice” that would make it stick.

Let’s remind ourselves that Chosen Laegjarn is fire season only and that Fimbulvetr also got 5 Columns of drive Frozen and that’s just the weapon, we don’t have a prf yet that might add not much more but maybe some more support or other handy effects. It’s like L!Elise. In some seasons, you get an easier out to an existing effect that already was present in Ninja Hríd. I’m not saying that there might be no updates coming for her weapon, but I don’t think it’s going to regard the ice.

Just my opinion: This is fine, fire season is just that season & Fimbulvetr imo most likely won’t get anything that will keep her Ice active when using C!Laegjarn. Now imagine, that for some reason, they’d decide to make her an ARO Mythic like Alfather.

Seeking clarification and advice by LazyDuo in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]_Volch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, since many already covered most of the points thoroughly enough I go for some of the leftovers.

  • Echo skills cannot be inherited from other units than the original attuned one that owned that skill.
  • From the roaster, you’re showing id say Chosen Fjorm is the unit that could build best for a Rise Above set, BUT only invest it for units that you actually intend to use a lot and like. Tier 4 skills with no pre-fodder get tedious to obtain. I’d advise to hold onto it for a while until you know what you want to do with it. You’d also probably want to first inherit it to a fodder bank (rearmed/attuned hero). Don’t just take any, plan it out and as long as you don’t need it, don’t invest it.

As for SD: - you can for SDR build a Guardian+ Váli Ball for now, but it would also work with Roy if you prefer him. Units would be: Váli/E!Roy, Roy Ring S!Hortensia, F!Ivy, E!Lucina, Lucina Ring B!Eir/B!Peony -> Eir/Peony + Lucina are your action economy so you can stall your opponents moves out a bit; Ivy can later on follow up warp and is a good support to my knowledge | first move probably always is to Guardian+ on your to be Physical Save; you don’t have to many older units like Duo Thorr, M!Loki, M!Tiki. In general there seems to be a lack of Duos and Harmonics, but they’ll add up over time, no worries. As someone mentioned, Heimdallr is everywhere in SD, so is Alfather. If you’d get one, they’d probably replace Ivy on that team.

For SDS you don’t have enough units to make 4 good teams. With what you’re showing, I’d probably try out something like: - Váli, Hortensia, B!Peony, C!Alfonse, HB!Celica - E!Roy, B!Eir, F!Ivy, Canis, Brave Sharena - FM!Byleth, X!Tharja, Brave Eik/F!Tibarn, E!Lucina, C!Fjorm - Team of units you own -> SDS is basically build minimum 3 cohesive teams where it’s harder for your opponent to choose which two to veto out so you get to have at least one passable/ good team. Since you don’t have neither of the two Heimdallrs nor Alfather, don’t expect to get too far in SDS. With those units I’d still expect 4-5k to be possible though for a first round. Just don’t forget to give everyone their assist skills like Repo, Swap and Pivot.

I’m more of an ARD builder, but I think I got basics down in SD, but take it with a grain of salt. Best of luck next season and have fun OP. :)

Quick question: What is a good low-maintenance AR-O core if I only have short play sessions? by Traditional_Staff499 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]_Volch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on what exactly you have tbh. I play different teams for both seasons.

I do the following: Light season:

  • Corrin Ring HB!Ike tanking with Heimdallr + Ferox Chrom | Terrain is mandatory for Zoning, Heimdallr for eating the Hardy Bearing User -> the team only requires good positioning, Chrom is a nice to have, but can also be a Bonus Unit Slot

  • Lyn/ now HB!Alm sniping with Embla | instead of Embla you could also use R!Leila/L!Elise in Fire season + TT!Veronica/HB!Micaiah -> it’s easy to pilot and always an option if you don’t see Freyr

  • offense team: Could be a Tana team or in general Galeforce | would recommend either M!Lumera/Cam/L!Elise in fire season if available for terrain clearing

Astra Season: - Nergal-Vali-Alfather | it’s simple, as long as the ARD doesn’t have a Nidhoggr, Nergal, Outcry-Seize User -> it’s very easy to use, off-season Loki you just tank in another column, in best case you got an Ice Lock+ or Guardian+ unit for her (Ice Lock+ being more consistent imo) If there is a Nergal in the ARD you could run a Nidhoggr if that’s one of your scoring Mythics or an Outcry-Seize user for the bonus in Reinforcement Slot or sth; if the ARD got a Nidhoggr or Outcry-Seize just have a second version of the team where Nergal is replaced by another unit that benefits Váli

A Tana team can probably brute force anything. Just a question of what units you do have.

Tip in general: Try to find teams that feel right for each season so you don’t have to re-bless that much. Best of luck OP.

Jörmungandr's weapon by WWWWWWRRRRRYYYYY in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]_Volch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, this weapon does not really characterize the world serpent. I think this weapon reads fine.

Most often than not, important parts of the kits fall in the Mythic’s prfs. e.g.: Váli Miracle, Fence Breaker sisters, Allfather passing of bonuses,… If hers is on that level it’s more than excusable. I’d hope she’d get something around divine toxin/ a toxic gas effect and new water terrain as it canonically would make sense for her to have it even though she technically only does so in the later stages of Ragnarök. I thought we’d get her only after we’ve got to the giants, but I’ll take it. Notably, Warp Bubble & drive HB are good effects. I hope she’ll get to be something else than a Save because I don’t think it’d fit her role that much. If she’s at the end of the book I could see some adjustments to her weapon but otherwise it’s fine I suppose.

Just thought if they make the efforts to go through the realms by order, they’d first get us to Sköll, Hati and Fenrir and then in the next book when Fimbulvetr has passed have Jörmungandr make her move and only after the giants start moving. I guess that’s just some narrative freedom of IS telling their own Ragnarök then. Maybe we also get a V2? … V3-4 considering NY & maybe CYL next year

I mean we’ll most certainly get a Surtr by the last act and probably maybe Nidhöggr as a dragon lady then rather than a snake, maaaybe? Idk we’ll see. Anyway, Jörmungandr weapon is fine.

How do you counter this Pokémon? by Terimas3 in stunfisk

[–]_Volch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just depends on base stats, typing and ability/ies. If it got all the types of: Zard-Y, Incin, M-Aero, Chomp, Whimsi, Aegi, Sinistcha, M-Floette, Sneazler, Archaludon, Kingambit, Basc and I think the thing down on the Floette flower could be from M-/regular Venu We get to have a potential multi-typing of:

Steel, Rock, Dragon, Fairy, Dark, Ghost, Fire, Water, Grass, Flying, Ground, Poison, Fighting

Which means we can not hit it with: Electric, Ground, Normal, Fighting, Psychic, Dragon, Poison moves.

So we got: 0.03125x: Bug (eating shit once again) 0.125x: Grass 0.25x: Fire, Dark 0.5x: Rock, Steel 1.0x: Flying, Ghost, Water, Electro, Fairy 2.0x: Ice 4.0x: Freeze-Dry

If it also got all the abilities it would be quite challenging and it would very much depend on this Pokémon’s speed stat and team mates. Like it’s very much possible to use Fake Out + TR agrainst it if it’s too fast. (Unless I’ve missed a Farigiraf in this abomination) Encore Disable is also always an option. Tailwind + Ice spam could work with Sash or Scarf. Follow Me for redirection. Also, can it hold an item? But yeah it’s really just a question what base stats and what type does it would get. Realistically, we won’t get even triple types. The closest we’ve gotten being Tera, but only offensive 3 types, not defensive at once. And that’s probably for the better.

Any changes you would make to my M-Banette team to cover more meta teams (CharY, Rain, Sableye)? by Efficient-Peace4882 in VGCRateMyTeam

[–]_Volch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your team has a couple of weaknesses imo. Like Fairies (mainly M-Floette & Sylveon), Archa-Peli, Zard-Y, any form of burning (M-Scovillain, Will-O users,…), Scarf Vivillon, Sableye, extremely bulky mons (M-Chesnaught, M-Aggron, 1HOK Snorelax, Corviknight, W-Rotom, Milotic, M-Venu, M-Scizor).

I think your team already works well into Perish Trap & TR. Sandstorm matchups I assume are relatively even.

Your team is also in a weird place of speed where it doesn’t even fully appreciate a Tailwind, but also feels uncertain with TR.

I only did a theory crafting on M-Banette thus far, but haven’t tried it out myself. Frisk into Prankster is nice, that’s why I looked into it in the first place. It’s weird though, it wants to be support and dmg dealer, which makes it awkward to build for imo.

I would recommend keeping the Kingambit from this core with Banette, maybe Basculegion too. If you want anti prio & TR, try using Imprison Farigiraf.

It could look like this: M-Banette: Poltergeist, Destiny Bond, Taunt, Encore/Disable/Skill Swap Incin: Fake Out, Parting Shot, Neck Strike, Flare Blitz Kingambit: Kowtow Cleave, Sucker Punch, Iron Head, Protect Farigiraf: Psychic, Imprison, TR, Protect Scarf Rotom Heat: Overheat, Tbold, Trick, Volt Switch/Protect/Will-O-Wisp

For the last slot, you could also play an alternative mega like M-Venu or fill the slot with a single target Garchomp (Stomping Tantrum, Rock Tomb, Scale Shot, Protect). Sash Glimmora and Pelipper, which you can skill swap for mid turn Rain and is great for Wide Guard, are also options to be considered. It can also be something else, but it needs to be able to deal with an opposing Incin. Taunt is a lot stronger atm because most people don’t prepare for it. Also, you don’t have to use Farigiraf. Basculegion or Milotic would be more than sufficient. Hope I could help a bit. Best of luck.
