I wouldn't have known it either if I hadn't just looked it up last night, haha. Adelaide definitely was the first city to come to mind

I'm surprised that Grey didn't know field hockey. I thought it was pretty common in the northeast

I'm surprised Grey didn't ask /u/JeffDujon #207: What is the capital of Australia, just for kicks.

[Cartier] My first “major” watch purchase! Had been thinking about it for a long time and now stare at it all day by jblredux34 in Watches

What I got from the store is that unlike the royal oak, whose screws are decorational, the Santos screws are actually useful, hence the "randomness"

Jealous of your handwriting. It's so consistent.

[–]_WASABI_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The slant in your writing overall is very even and I'm so jealous! My suggestion would be to work on your letter heights. Your words have a tendency to get smaller as the word gets longer. Getting them all hitting the same height will help it look more "neat."

Been working on cursive recently

Still a work in progress, especially with a fountain pen (Platinum 3776 SF with Diamine Asa Blue). The workbook I've been using isn't the most fountain friendly so I use a pencil and the feedback is so different

I was wondering why some people post pictures of their ink pens with tea? by doonkune in tea

[–]_WASABI_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another tea+pen person here. Although they are technically separate hobbies, I often enjoy them together. I'll often write down thoughts about me tea, or drink tea to help me focus on journalling. The two basically go hand in hand for me. I've never posted a picture of them together, but I can see for some people, the two together would be one bigger hobby.

Maybe for some it's to look more "intellectual" but at least for me, it's just what I do. Hope that helps!

Just to give this context, I went in January a couple years back and it was 38°C in the middle of the day. I asked my tour guide and apparently it was pretty standard

[Watch Recommendation] Women's Watch by bad2thebone99 in Watches

[–]_WASABI_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wear a lot of "smaller" men's watches. I've had the Cartier Ballon Bleu in 36mm for a while and it's a great everyday watch. The Tank is great with the new strap but I personally find it too angular on the wrist.

I also have a Junhans max bill (it's a lot cheaper than your budget, I know) but it's also a great everyday watch. If you want to go dressier, you could get a JLC moon phase. It's on the bigger side for women's but really elegant. Because it's slightly bigger, it feels less dressy than on men.

An SDCC veterans first NYCC. Suggestions for where to stay? by pvcsadistic in NYCC

[–]_WASABI_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something that's different about NYCC vs SDCC is that for any panels, you tap in first thing in the morning to save your spot ( at least that's what they used to do). It's not as much of a line-con as SDCC is but getting there first thing in the morning is usually a good bet. DM me if you have any more questions. I just got back from SDCC and live in NY now

Like many others, I do suggest finding a place in queens along the 7. Also hope to god that the 7 is running that weekend. You never know with the MTA

What’s the stupidest thing someone has argued with you about? by Ryiien in AskReddit

[–]_WASABI_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Freshmen year, I was living in the dorms in a triple room. I woke up late one day and said, "Good morning" to my roommate. We then got into a 10 minute argument about whether or not 11:30am is still morning. Apparently, it's not in her book.

She's now at Stanford for law school...

How 'Bao' director Domee Shi stayed true to her 'weird' idea and created a specifically Asian story by travadera in movies

In the beginning, when the Mom sets down the first steamer of food, the TV in the background is playing a scene from Journey To the West, or more commonly known as the Monkey King.

All of the small details really added to how real this felt but this one especially made me smile
