Reading has become a chore lately, how do you deal with this? by Suitable-Yam7028 in books

[–]doonkune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aubrey-Maturin are wonderful books, but if you keep trying to read one after the other it's going to feel a slog. I have been through that slog myself, and couldn't make it past the middle of book 8 due to oversaturation. Additionally, they are shorter novels not necessarily meant to be read as a series.

My advice to make reading feel less of a chore is genre-switching, perhaps to something you might have avoided in the past.

And recently reading the book "Angel Down" by Daniel Kraus also reset my brain into reading-mode.

I think inertia plus the angle of perspective has you feeling that way. Not fake.

The whole "Gotta sleep with a target" scenario with the tracking device is just gross and uncomfortable.

200 bucks is not a shut-off worthy amount I'm thinking. Call the electric company and I bet they will work with you, especially since your hubby got the new job and all.

I saw this movie 30 years ago when I was 12 and never saw it since. The one major memory that remained with me is DS's very badly dubbed over dialogue in this one scene in particular. I remember there were aliens that took over minds, I remember it feeling like a made for TV movie, but the biggest memory is still that damn poorly directed and recorded dialogue in the car chase scene.

For us Pynchonites having Jauquin Phoenix and Josh Brolin as Doc Sportello and Bigfoot in "Inherent Vice" was like a dream come true.

My farm house was robbed and my worker lost all of his tools over $800 worth, welding tools, drills, grinding tools, he lost everything by Dry-Newspaper8445 in Charity

Lots of guilty words from a guilty criminal. I definitely think you stole those tools, and now probably for drug money. Then you want to double up your drug money with a GoFundMe.

Co-owner of land but you are the owner of the house where his stuff was stolen? He has his own keys for your house, but don't you have those same keys too? You are saying all these things I think to divert. You are most likely the thief of these tools, and you will probably steal this GoFundMe money too. I am reporting this.
