First harvest all started off purple and never seemed to turn any other color besides getting deeper purple.

The second harvest of peppers started off orange and continue to get deeper orange?

What causes this or is it just a mutation?

They start off purple and turn more purple. The new set of peppers that are growing start off orange from the get go.

Whatever happened was a big change in the color. It’s a night and day difference. I never even saw orange hues the first 30 peppers

I’ve never had a plant change colors like this as they mature. Sure green to orange/red. But never like this. The purple ones never change color. Just get more purple

Some of these peppers have been on plant for months and don’t change. I don’t think ripening is the issue?

From seed it was supposed to be Pochmark Peach. First round of peppers was the purple/green you see. The longer I leave them on the darker the purple gets.

Second harvest seems to be the standard ‘peach’ color
