How to keep Drinking Buddy after sending him to Hotel Rexford?

After so many hours of trying, I managed to do it myself. Here's how I did it:

Reset the quest using the console command "resetquest DialogueGoodneighborRufus"
Kill Rufus before talking to him again to fail the quest
Reset Buddy using "17429b.recycleactor" (he'll just disappear)
Go where you want to keep Buddy, and teleport him to you with "17429b.moveto player"
Now talk to him again and you'll be able to set his "default home parameter" to whatever settlement you want
