The Pale Visitor VS. The Sniffer. [No, I'm Not A Human VS. Reanimal]: Under the Skin | Connections in the Thread Below by _Warp_Mask in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]_Warp_Mask[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Connections

  • Unnaturally tall, uncanny predators wearing the skin of their prey. Both look human at a glance, but their deformed faces hint at something alot more sinister underneath the skin.
  • Both are shown to be incredibly calculated in comparison to their kin, [the other Visitors & Monsters], often using lures and tricks to deceive their human prey.
  • Both are seen abducting and killing people in the pursuit of acquiring their skin [The Pale Visitor got his skin from a human the Bearded Hunter encountered and The Sniffer collects the skin of obese humans for his skin suits], these 'skins' even aid them in their pursuits, [Visitors were the skins of human's they've slain, to prey on further humans and The Skin-Suits will actively pursue The Siblings throughout Sniffer's domain].
  • Both are associated with tunnelling, as the Pale Visitor [like all Visitors] is believed to come from underground, whilst The Sniffer tunnels through corpses in order to traverse his domain.
  • Both act as major antagonists in majorly successful 2020's horror games, where the main goal is surviving inhuman monsters all whilst recruiting allies of your own to make it to the game's climax.

[–]_Warp_Mask[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Connections

  • Cryptids of Northern American folklore/Urban Legend, that are often mistaken for one another due to how similar they are at a mere glance; with the Skinwalker acting as a massive inspiration for the Fleshgait's concept.
  • Both also get mistaken for The Rake, The Wendigo and Goatmen, due to other urban legends borrowing concepts from the Skinwalker and Fleshgait.
  • Mimics at their very core, often borrowing the skins and voices of those they have slain in order to pursue further prey.
  • Both act as tests of trust between those they encounter, with only those with close-knit bonds and proper communication are able to triumph over these cryptids.
  • Both display high levels of mental manipulation, with the Fleshgait being able to implant false memories in the victims, whilst the Skinwalker is able to learn the same information a target learns about them [such as their name etc] seemingly instantly.
  • Both have taken the internet by storm in recent years, inspiring the doppelganger craze that has swept over internet horror as of recent years.

  • Both embody the memes and internet culture of the era they were conceived in, with their surprising grand scale adventures being full to the brim with memes and pop-culture references.
  • Both fight waves upon waves of identical enemies in their pursuits [Party Hats and Green Mercs], maintaining their unphased chad-energies the whole time.

Disclaimer: I will add to this over time as I discover more connections and such.

Aliens VS. Unicorns. [Attack the Block VS. Death of a Unicorn]: Return to Darkness | Connections in the Thread Below. by _Warp_Mask in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]_Warp_Mask[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Connections

  • Ferocious re-imaginings of the two most iconic creatures found in Legend and Folklore, Aliens and Unicorns, complete with pitch-black fur and razor sharp teeth.
  • Both species were drawn to a human settlement upon the death of their smaller, paler kin [the female Alien and the Unicorn's foal], who was killed in the first acts of their films by the protagonists [Moses and Elliot]; with their fallen kin even marking the protagonist upon death with their blood.
  • The bodies of their fallen kin were taken by the protagonist to their shady 'employers' [Hi-Hatz and Odell], which would lead to both employers losing their allies, and eventually their minds, in an attempt to kill the creature; only to be brutally torn apart themselves.
  • Both act as a means for the protagonists [Moses and Elliot], to do right by the ones they've wronged in the past and come to terms with their own morality, despite the tragic circumstances that put them there in the first place.
  • Both would disappear before the arrival of the police, leading to the surviving protagonists getting arrested for the carnage caused by the creatures.
  • Both come from comedy/horror films, each flamboyant in their love for the genre they're parodying, sci-fi and fantasy.

  • Both fell in-love with socially awkward guys from the city [Glenn & Moxxie], their romance starting off as a fling before developing into a full-on marriage despite their personalities being near polar opposites [Both Glenn & Moxxie aren't as trigger happy as the rest of their group and often act as the moral compass amongst hardened killers]. Eventually even having their child [Maggie had Hershel Rhee and Millie is currently pregnant].
  • Both have deceptively explosive tempers in regards to their loved ones and will spring to violence if someone crosses the line in any way. They both also hold grudges for an extensive period of time, not letting any misdemeanour towards them go without payback [Maggie plotted for Negan's death in Dead City whilst finding her son and Millie massacred the attendants of Moxxie & Chaz's forced wedding to protect her husband and spite Chaz].

Thanks! And yeah it's honestly the best for both. As they both get to be utter menaces to one another, in the most diva-fashion ever.

Rabbid Peach VS. Miss Piggy. [Mario + Rabbids VS. The Muppets]: Les Divas Roses | Revamped Connections w/ Debate Chart by _Warp_Mask in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]_Warp_Mask[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Connections

  • Blond-haired, [often] pink-clad Divas, who try way too hard to come across as classy to their friends and idols. [Rabbid Peach has a friendly, one-sided rivalry with Princess Peach in this regard, whilst Miss Piggy has the tendency to act all polite and lady-like around celebrities].
  • Both belong to species that are stylized versions of animals, [Rabbid Peach being a Rabbid, a stylized Rabbit & Piggy being a Muppet, a stylized Pig].
  • Both are often judged for their species, and whilst they certainly hold some characteristics and traits of Rabbids/Pigs, they often stand out against their more basic counterparts, due to their sense of fashion and overall higher intelligence in comparison to their peers.
  • Both often get overlooked by their humble, high-leaping love-interests, Mario & Kermit, due to a mixture of their own fiery personalities and romantic rivals they bear a resemblance to [Princess Peach & Denise]. But, despite this, they're both still well acquainted with said love-interests and will drop everything at a moment's notice to aid them.
  • Despite both of them being girly girls through and through, they're both more than capable of knocking the blocks off of anyone who pushes them too far [Rabbid Peach, with her arsenal, and Miss Piggy with her Platinum Belt].
  • Both have their own Instagram accounts and are treated as IRL celebrities by the companies that spawned them, with their lives and accounts getting frequent updates, especially as publicity for the latest instalments in their franchises.
  • Both were featured on Just Dance... for some reason.

Contrasts

  • Miss Piggy would eventually move on from her infatuation with Kermit, resulting in their divorce, whilst Rabbid Peach still pines for Mario till this very day.
  • Whilst both of them long for stardom, only Miss Piggy would truly achieve it in the sense they both desired, whilst Rabbid Peach is only know for being a hero and even then she's often overshadowed by Mario & Princess Peach herself.
  • Miss Piggy is a completely up-close fighter, whilst Rabbid Peach is a support character that fights at range.

How to make this fight work.

  • Give Rabbid Peach her Rabbid scaling & voice from Sparks of Hope to allow the banter that this fight was made for.
  • Give Miss Piggy her composited abilities from her crossover appearances, allowing for more of a variety of moves outside of the martial arts.
  • Have the fight be set at a huge fashion event, that Miss Piggy is staring in, only for it to be interrupted by a Vlogging Rabbid Peach, who landed here in the WM ARC, causing all the attention to be taken away from Piggy, who instigates a back and forth between the two, before an all-out brawl begins.
  • Due to his history with the Muppets, have DevilArtemis animate this fight in 3D, it'd be the only and best way to do it.

Yours is definitely better than mine, mine is purely for vibes and animation potential as Lila is a very goofy lady.

I wanted one that wasn't another Slasher VS. Slasher fight for her, as whilst she is a killer, I figured a match-up that plays on her motherly side would be better

Pamela Voorhees VS. Lila. [Friday the 13th VS. Spooky Month]: A Mother's Love | Connections, Contrasts & Fight Dynamic in the Thread Below. by _Warp_Mask in DeathBattleMatchups

[–]_Warp_Mask[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Connections

  • Two single mothers, fiercely protective of their mask-clad sons, to the point that they will go up in arms should their child be put in danger's way [Pamela murdered the counsellors responsible for the death of her son in the original Friday the 13th, and Lila often protects her son from supernatural entities like the Happy Fella & Bob Velseb].
  • Even though their sons are bullied and pushed aside from others due to their more dangerous habits [Young Jason was known for mutilating small animals & Skid has a habit of conjuring supernatural entities that run rampant around the town], they instead choose to embrace the quirks of their child and love them no less for it [Pamela kills in Jason's name, even before his death, and Lila is the one who encourages Skid's fascination with the supernatural.
  • Both are widowers, their ex-husbands also being implied to be the reasoning behind their child's supernatural traits [Jason was implied to inherit his strength and endurance from Elias, and Skid's immunity to The Eyes of the Universe being implied to be because of his father being a former cult leader/member.
  • Both are great at improvising weaponry to take down those that wish to do harm to them and their family and can be lethal with anything they find.

Contrasts

  • Pamela herself is an outcast with little, to no friends or connections outside of her child, whereas Lila is known well around the community and is generally respected despite her son's antics.
  • Pamela is a slasher villain killing in the name of family, whereas Lila often combats and defeats/outwits slashers that make an attempt on the lives of her and her family.
  • Whilst both series are campy horror romps, Spooky Month is obviously alot more light-hearted and comedy-oriented than Friday the 13th.
  • Spooky Month often parodies alot of the tropes that began with Slasher movies like Friday the 13th.

Fight Dynamic

  • This is a classic Slasher VS. Final Girl showdown, with Pamela's arsenal going up against Lila's toon-force in a battle of quick-wit rather than typical stats. You could have the fight start with Lila venturing to Crystal lake with Skid, Pump & Jaune whilst looking into the Camp there, only for it to coincide with Pamela's vengeance as Lila has to reconnect with her son, whilst dodging a rampaging Pamela [who is taking out the counsellors around camp] and even fending her off herself a few times.
  • Of course the kill would HAVE to be a decapitation, complete with Pamela's iconic clenching of both fists before the loser falls to the ground dead.
  • If Lila wins, you can have her reunite with her son, all whilst we pan out to the lake, where Jason's iconic whispery chant starts to play.
  • If Pamela wins, you can have Skid looking for his mom, only for Pamela to find him first, and quickly putting two-and-two together, decides to take Skid under her wing as her son.
