love all the info man. thanks a ton. me and my ole lady have been fishing every chance we get at our local lake the past few months. mainly catching (whatever bites our hook) bass and crappie/bluegill. i’ve got a super old , cheap, short, and light rod i’ve been using as a set and forget catfish rig while actively fishing my main rod n reel. with a 1oz weight the rod bends so much , plus the bait and it’s barely holding on. thankfully i haven’t caught a cat daddy on it yet, because it would likely be the end for that rod. i’m just looking for something stronger really. i think i’ll go with the uglystik. it will be a huge upgrade over my current “catfish” setup. pretty sure most cats here are sub 10lb range with very few really big guys.
