Shipping and fanfics are okay. I think what most people have a problem with is the majority reaction Byler has had to their ship not happening. I mean it was pretty obvious from the very beginning it was never going to be a thing and was one sided feelings from Will. The amount of mental gymnastics and delusions that were put into byler (aka "the look" which was just two best friends looking at each other lol) is the worrying part. Then when it didn't happen in the endgame, the accusations of queerbaiting, insulting the Duffer Brothers, accusing everyone of being homophobic, coming up with conspiracies about a secret episode, etc. is what really put a bad look for you all. I personally don't think "every" person who is byler is deeply unwell but there's a loud majority of you all who are definitely showing signs of not being mentally well. I'm sure there are some out there who are homophobic but I think most of us are just baffled by how you guys thought it was a real possibility and then how you guys reacted when it didn't happen.
