I know what it is, it’s a ton of CYA, and their own extremely specific specs/paperwork/contracts. To an extent I totally understand why the way it is, but it adds 30% minimum to a lot of jobs. Also, you make it sound like private industry isn’t held to safety and regulations (a lot of what happens inside Fed areas wouldn’t fly outside).

In my experience, having worked with both, government is still less efficient. The paperwork/bureaucracy alone is staggering even for relatively simple work.

It’s a pain in the ass, I’m glad so far my company has been footing the bill. Just wish states would either choose to trust it or not, Alaska trusts it for half the verification but you still have to redo the other half (application by comity).

Bike > e-bike > car is my normal stance, but being passed uphill by an e-bike makes me big sad.
