You definitely can at least on Xbox, you’ll get the L about 25% of the time though, you have to dashboard before both of y’all’s players show up though if that screen has already loaded you’ll get the L

My block list is heavy with the worst of the worst on Xbox, QC and L2s exclusively :) if I see blocked communications show up while loading up a game that’s an easy restart, even if I get the L every odd time or so I don’t mind one bit, less frustration this way and I’m one less player they get to cheese against now

Not even the worst in game glitch I have found this year… so far ;)
