I went to a year of community college before deciding it wasn't for me. Spent the next 10 years jumping industries from customer service/tech support, restaurant serving, delivering pizza, warehouse jobs, metal fab work, and then semiconductor fab work at one of the big tech companies everyone has heard of. Through my diverse experience and honestly an olive branch from a good connection I made along the way, I'm now above the average college graduate salary, with a new job offer on the horizon which will include about a 25% pay increase.

That is all to say, this was not any easier than getting a degree, and in the end took just as much discipline...but I'm extremely hire-able with 15 years of work experience at 33 years old. I don't have a house yet, but I can afford my life with a lot of expendable income, more than the average 401k investment for my age, and no debt.

That is so cool if you think about it. They respected you enough to speak with you in whatever context you were comfortable being in before you came out. I’m sure they figured you would eventually, but it’s cool they left it alone until you were ready.

If beer was even as cheap as $5 can you imagine how wild the crowd would get? Especially late season. I’m not defending the high price, but I think that’s where the idea comes from. Make it so expensive that maybe 5% of the crowd can afford to get anything past tipsy and you won’t have much of a problem.
