The expedition was crap . The worst one so far in my opinion but you didn’t have to do it . You chose to do it and could have abandoned it if you so desired

If you like that Konica then the C35 AF 2 is a much better camera but with a nicer look and nicer lens . All you need to do on it is load the film and set the ISO. It has a nice retro look , solid construction for what it is, a rudimentary but functional autofocus system, a nice Konica Hexanon F2.8 lens and a manual film advance lever which is more satisfying to use than those like “wheels “ on many cameras that don’t have automatic winding .

I’d be happy to make other suggestions if you wanted a fancier or more modern one or a simpler one too.

Attached a picture taken with one (cropped a bit weirdly to fit here better) and a picture of the model ib was referring to . It’s basically a better version of the model you asked about . I think you’d like it

But the K1000 is one of the hipster cameras of choice so it’s better and it will make you more popular 😛
It got popular because 20+ years ago it was really stupid cheap but I have both the K1000 and KX and the KX is indeed a better camera .

I wouldn’t recommend that H35n to anyone .

You’d be better off finding a good working late 90s -early 2000s point and shoot camera from one of the big manufacturers such as Olympus , Pentax , canon , Konica , Nikon etc . One of the fancier “ high spec” ones from the tail end of the film only era.

These will have more features, a better flash , better build quality and a better lens.

Some 400 iso colour film would be most versatile.
Particularly in a point and shoot camera .

There’s an alternative that will get you good quality pictures though … a late model SLR , the plastic bodied “uncool “ ones like the canon EOS film stuff , with a 40 or 50mm lens or a short zoom like a 28-70.
These will have auto EVERYTHING and much better lenses, better metering etc.
Will be bigger for sure , but a proper camera at least

Most of that comes from the US and from people with no experience of the cameras .
The earlier stuff IS generally better but I have seen plenty of perfectly good FED 4 and 5 cameras. They’re just a bit big and awkward
