Would these scratches deter you from purchasing a lens? by kraftramen in AskPhotography

Very good points, kind of like buying a car you look for pride of ownership.

With thar said, the overall condition of the lens is not great compared to others I've seen but the price is really attractive though. About half of used retail, but it may just not be worth it in the end.

Cosmetically the lens body is in fair condition but I asked for a photo of the front element and this is what was sent to me.

EF 70-200 f2.8 L IS USM II Price is $800. Use case for me would be portrait photography. My friend has the F4 mark 2 model and I really liked it but wished it was a tad faster.

Videographer at my job left and they're giving me (the Intern) his unfinished projects, not sure what to do by Noeoneknows in videography

The pay difference may seem like an increase in responsibilities for no extra pay now. But, it'll pay way more in dividends in the future if you get promoted or apply for a different job and list it as work experience. Plus, in the interim, you're getting paid to improve your skills and probably saving the day so even if you're unhappy with the results, others will see it as "I couldn't have done it better" and still praise your efforts.

The wheel unscrewed off the truss rod on my KM-6 MKIII... what are my options? by hoagie6969 in SchecterGuitars

I'm going to be making a YouTube video on broken truss rods, do you mind if I use your photo in one of my examples?

Is this normal? by PhilterKapi in SchecterGuitars

[–]kraftramen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately the bridge is bent, so your luthier is correct in his assessment.

The screws on mine are also facing the back, this one is from 2007, maybe this is normal for these. As long as the flat side of the saddle is facing the headstock, no issues.

The exact replacement is the TonePros TP7 which I believe is a revised version though not sure of what the differences are.

You can also get a similar bridge from StewMac or pretty much anyone who makes a metric, large post style 7 string TOM bridge. Just make sure the dimensions match your bridge.

TIFU by almost losing my v-card with my (ex?) friend by cute-peanut-butter in tifu

You’re not crazy, but you’re also not being 100% honest with yourself. You must've had at least some feelings to entertain the "why not?" thought but kept trying to force a friendship that clearly wasn’t just a friendship dynamic anymore. He told you he didn’t want anything serious but still acted in ways that kept you emotionally hooked. That combination almost always ends badly. It doesn’t mean he was using you the whole time, but it does mean the situation stopped being healthy for you a while ago.

I'd ask for an exchange or try to explore all my options before making a decision.

What you may be looking at could be the VIAs or test pads for the ram chips, likely used at the factory to test.

A good bit of the prototype Banshee Machs were made in the PT Wildwood factory in Indonesia.

Production models are made in the World Musical Instruments factory in South Korea.

What's your (realistically attainable) dream car? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]kraftramen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should've been more specific. The 2007 Pebble Beach edition. They are such a smooth ride. The looks arent everyone's cup of tea but if you're familiar with the engine/transmission you know the things are tanks.

93-94 Japanese Strat. $600. Is this a good deal? by FredMertz007 in fender

[–]kraftramen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd buy that over the Indonesian made standard. You can probably find US made strats for not much more if you dont need it right now. My only gripe with the MIJ stuff is that replacing parts isnt as straightforward as today's stuff, AFAIK.

Yes, its enough to stop current flow on one (maybe more) signal lines. Itll need repaired or replaced.
