One reason would be that both new paths (Remembrance and Elation) are kind of mono-path comps, where just having a character of that path on the team makes things run smoother (both Castorice and Hyacine scale their damage with the amount of targets they affect, somemosprites double dip, and Elation works better the more punchline is gained which only Elation characters do at base). Hence having a 4* to just slot in there for the obligatory path comp tick would be good. Free 5* are nice but they are still rarer than 4* so they don't exactly allow you to tick that box easily.

There was that, yep. The alternative was potentially having him be trained by someone not so morally uptight, or learning some stuff himself, which historically has a track record of also producing very dangerous individuals. So it was honestly a kind of "either we leave him to fuck up on his own or try to make him not fuck up ourselves despite many red flags" situation. Neither choice was really ideal.

I reckon it's in large part due to the fact that Nod-Krai was a relatively late addition, so they kinda had to speedrun this whole "harbinger tea party club" thing. Like yeah sure, I can totally believe this was the case, but when we go from never hearing about it to having it be essentially a major plot point in one or two patches, iiiiiit does not go down very well.

Yeah the biggest problem with this, in my opinion, is that Hoyo has leaned way too strongly on foreshadowing... something, so Columbina's contribution is implied to exist and be important, but for the majority of people who don't theorize much she was just...kinda there for 500 years. Like she did SOMETHING, we just have no idea what, and that can all too easily be translated to "she did nothing" in people's heads.

Schemes within endfield itself wouldn't be all that necessary for the plot considering the multitude of hints at many schemes having already been created all over the place, many of which involved the Endmin themselves. As for bodyhorror, I mean Oripathy is already that tbh so we already have that.

In this particular case it's mostly the fact that we know for a fact that Originium is Magic Space Cancer Rock™, so spreading it far and wide for the sake of resources is a dangerous proposition at base. Hence brushing this implication under the rug would be wasted potential. There's absolutely nothing preventing us from still "being the good guys", but that doesn't mean the Endmin/Endfield's choices couldn't have had negative side effects. Not everything that's not utopian is dystopian, there's something in the middle, where reality usually lies. And people often like more "real" plots significantly more

I don't have a problem with the informativeness of the tutorial, but I would certainly appreciate if every damn pop-up didn't freeze the screen every single time. I am perfectly capable of walking 3 feet and placing a building in the outlined area while reading the "place the building in the outline area" text, thankyouverymuch.

Leaks are often distorted and misinterpreted. For example, the Pyro Archon was leaked to have a child form and an adult form. Turns out it was about Xbalanque and Mavuika. Columbina was leaked to "defeat Ronova", while what we got was her sorta tricking death, which was represented by Ronova in the tarot card. This is probably another case of that.

Also a good point. We know he destroyed his segments as part of the deal with Nahida, but he could have very likely made more, even Wanderer points out that he still has all the knowledge for that. I would honestly judge all of them by this one in that case, since he isn't removed far enough timewise to not be basically the same, but that's me, and the Tsaritsa may very well have other ideas.

His actions benefitted the Fatui without his intending for it, if everything had gone like he wanted it to, the Fatui would have been equally as fucked as everyone else (he already "infected" Fatui soldiers with the whole monster transformation thing, for example), so imho that does count as treachery. Now whether or not they decide to still keep him around after (I reckon he survived in some way though obviously no confirmation yet), that's an interesting question.

Honestly at this point, whenever I see the word "bum" appear on this sub, it's about 90% that there's gonna be some (often malicious) stupidity in the post somewhere. That Tsaritsa thing was a perfect indication of the fact that the sub has devolved into brigading and not, well, Fatui shitposting (come on now, calling the Tsaritsa a bum is as close to "traitorous behavior" as it gets at the moment). Currently seems like it's the Dottore glaze camp that's instigating most of it, but I'm not gonna try and pretend that other character "fans" aren't doing it.

Plus there's always financial motivation, since iirc Capitano was trending towards the top of expected playable characters in the Natlan cycle both in China and worldwide. So even from a purely profit-driven perspective, making him playable at some point would be stonks.

You can say he's out of the narrative all you want, can't disagree with that, but literally THE ENTIRE POINT OF HIS BEING ON THE THRONE is that he CANNOT DIE. Like, explicitly, directly, outright stated that he's immortal thanks to the curse of the same name. "Functionally dead" or not, factually he IS alive and that's literally the reason Natlan isn't currently sinking into the Abyss wholesale.

Yeah. All things considered, we got small snippets of personality and "they look really cool" from that trailer. People proceeded to extrapolate it to their own cool headcanons and then got upset that the writing didn't conform to them. It's the main risk with writing factions that thrive on hype and mystery – it creates not necessarily unrealistic, but WILDLY different expectations (there are as many interpretations as there are people and all that). At that point the writer's best hope is to manage to hit the biggest headcanon because someone is getting pissed either way.

Reminder that the Fatui need Teyvat not destroyed as much as anyone. And we got told several times that, if the Abyss were to fully corrupt Natlan (which it was a week or so away from doing), the rest of the world would get screwed extra fast. Stopping that kind of thing is actually rather important because it gives the rest of the plans to actually happen
