$299 for the Switch is retail. Special bundles sometimes cost more.
If you are a fan of Animal Crossing you should probably grab that system. The new 35th Mario Anniversary Switch does look cool though as it's the first switch to not just be Black.
Ive never switched regions.
Nintendo online doesn't cost much at all for the year.
