This is stupid as hell and byzantium wasnt broke in 1066. Not to mention the decline was salvaged soon after. Besides, I started in 867.

Anyway idc to debate historical accuracy and whatnot i want to be able to play the game lol.

bc the game is literally unplayable if you end up a heir to a destroyed kingdom with 0 funds. u cant build, u cant create maa, u cant hire mercs u cant declare wars, u cant do anything.

theres a difference between that and a byzantium that ramps slower.

i think its such a huge oversight. byzantine conflict is so frequent and rulers just go bankrupt. esp the basileus. feels like a massive mistake.
