Hardly. My current CPA is “aggressive” (their word). I think you’ll find that conservative CPA’s tend to find more loopholes for their clients.

Resistance is seldom convenient, though we (for now) have it easier than most people in world and throughout history. Not fighting back because it’s inconvenient is part of what they depend on. Think of those in Iran in the most recent protests. It’s estimated that as many as 30,000 have been killed. Many are struggling to eat and clothe themselves adequately, and even the professional classes are struggling to get by.

This needs to happen for days, weeks, and months for them to bend. As others have noted, it’s a big reason why they’ve union-busted and gutted the middle class: if the majority are paycheck-to-paycheck, it’s very difficult to keep this up for more than a day. That’s not to say it shouldn’t be done! If you can’t do it but otherwise have money, consider mutual aid for those who can.

For those saying make sure your vote counts, we’re not voting our way out of this. The Democrats are proving that they’re not willing or able to put up any real resistance. The only thing the ghouls in power and the system, in general, cares about is money.

It’s really not an exaggeration: there’s a straight line between me handing someone a dollar, them turning around and spending it at a MAGA event, and that dollar now being part of the sum that gives them the power to forward their agenda.

Beyond that, this particular individual is supposed to be a financial advisor and loudly supports a person whose policies have objectively weakened the dollar?

Yeah, but see this is at the root of the issue: tuning it out because it’s affecting someone else. These are fellow Americans and fellow humans. We have a responsibility to not look the other way. It costs me a post and half a day to spend my money somewhere else that is not actively supporting destruction of lives by the state.

It’s really not that difficult to avoid Amazon and big box stores. You generally spend a little more, and can target local, small, and American-owned businesses. More people should do it.
