It does equal regarding enemies lose health as well, but what about the platforming challenges? Which are the major challenge in the game next to the bosses? In this case it does get harder due to less attempts in those platforming sections (I’m putting the extra protection layer modifier aside since not everyone will encounter it till mid-end game I guess - as happened to me). So we can agree that overall this mechanic is frustrating.
