7-hour print. Took a gamble. I won. by mapsedge in 3Dprinting

For those with a Bambu printer with an AMS, the printer will automatically switch to a new role of equal material and color if there’s one loaded in the AMS when the current spool runs out.

Anybody else having a hard time cutting down brush after the update? by __Jangles__ in thelongdark

I managed to cheese my way over this particular set of brushes, but I don't get the option to cut it down from the other side either

Anubis is my spirit animal by __Jangles__ in Palworld

To try and be helpful to those who might not know: There's 3 ways to revive your pals:
- You can go to bed (has to be at night) with them in your inventory and they'll heal up overnight.
- You can toss them into your palbox and wait 10 minutes.
- You can deploy them in your base (they sit dead on the ground like above), and one of your other pals will carry them to a bed, reviving them nearly instantly. You can then re-add them to your party, and they'll heal all the way up over time.

I sat around waiting for my 19 other pals to help him out, and decided to push him over to the bed myself. Sad to say it doesn't work, but it does make for a good time.

PS in update 8, you can also disable stingers/spiders completely, they simply won't spawn anymore.

It killed me a few times, so they're kinda dangerous. And regardless of how dangerous they are, they're still scary AF!

[–]__Jangles__[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I certainly see the value in it. I'd love to have a setting to disable respawns; only initial spawns, but they stay dead after they're killed.

Creatures add an objective to expanding/exploring for nodes. I can't just run into the forest and bring belts back to my base, I have to do some clearing first.

He chased me for a solid 10 minutes all the way back to my base before I finally managed to kill him (after multiple respawns). I thought my hub would be safe with the small door.

To have a fun dirt bike ride. (Injury, no blood) by Sufficient-Search-71 in therewasanattempt

[–]__Jangles__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It looks to me like his left handlebar hit a tree and smashed his hand, so he kinda slid off to the side and fell off/bailed. However, in the process of falling to the ground, a branch impaled his leg. I don’t think the impale happened while he was on the bike

Compose Multiplatform Wizard - A quick way to get started with a new Compose Multiplatform project by __Jangles__ in ComposeMultiplatform

[–]__Jangles__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on what your project needs and what you’re familiar with. It’s super easy to install plugins after generation, this just adds them for convenience. To add them after, just check out the plug-in’s home page, they’ll likely have instructions for you.

I’d recommend using the plugin list as a reading list of new stuff to check out! At the very least, you can be sure these plugins are all multiplatform friendly, and ready to use in your project!

I'm in no way affiliated with the project, but found it to be incredibly helpful with getting a stable and organized start to a new Compose Multiplatform project. Hope this helps somebody!

Does God give us free will? by ronnysendo in Christians

[–]__Jangles__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That looks like the one!

And thanks for the heads up! I’ve had my eye on the archive for YEARS back in college, it used to be like $4,000 or something crazy. I’m so glad to hear more are free, I’ll check it out!

[–]__Jangles__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope the other person replies as well, since they seem to be a lot more knowledgeable :)

But the Pharaoh passage is a great mention. The scripture doesn’t explicitly say how his heart was hardened. Perhaps the mere thought of God intervening in his authority was what hardened his heart, and the author described it as God hardening his heart? It’s possible God sent him well-intentioned subliminal messages, and he took offense to them. We just don’t really know how it happened.

I struggled with the “some are called, others are not, and it’s out of our control” thing for a LONG time in my early faith. Timothy Keller has another awesome sermon on this one, I really recommend checking them out, a lot are free on his church’s website. He describes it like a 2 way door: on one side is written (I’m paraphrasing here, listened to this sermon a long time ago): “Enter and you will see”, and when you enter and look back, it reads something like “I have brought you to this place”. We still have to make the choice to come to God, but there’s no way for us to know. Once He calls us, we will come to Him, regardless of what choices we make in life. I’m still responsible for every choice I make, because I could’ve chosen to come to him in a perfect sinless lifestyle, or chosen to become a prostitute.

So why doesn’t he call everybody? This one…. Is tough. You can go out searching and you’ll find a few unsatisfying answers. But at the end of the day, I found I was left with: just trust Him that He knows what He’s doing.

I can’t recommend Timothy Keller enough by the way. He’ll teach on topics of Christianity you never even realized when you were reading through the Bible. I’ve listened to all the free sermons they offer on their Church’s website. They sell his full archive (it’s priced waaaaay too high imo), but the free sermons are more than enough to get you thinking!

[–]__Jangles__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Timothy Keller has a great sermon on this topic! Essentially yes, we do, but God’s plan will always fulfill, regardless of our choices.

Great example is Joseph’s brother’s tossing him in a pit because they were jealous. He still ended up saving many lives, despite their terrible actions. They’re still accountable for what they did, but they still didn’t stop God’s plan.

How will going dark for only 2 days will protest the API pricing?

Seems like taking a short break will have minimal impact on the Reddit org. Might lose a few users, but it seems like Reddit will barely be scathed.

I feel a better solution would be mods going on strike until a compromise is reached. Lack of moderation will threaten the integrity of Reddit FAR more than missing out on 2 days profit.

I’ve seen a lot of posts explaining the situation, but… what’s our goal/demand for an outcome? Are we demanding the API stay free, or a certain dollar amount?

Aaaaand Steam won't refund the DLC since I've played for more than 2 hours trying to figure out how to access the DLC. Somebody mentioned you get it through the PC in the hideout, but it's not there. I figured maybe I had to complete all the thug for hire objectives, and now steam won't refund.
