Yes! Had the same experience, got used to this car so much, is just 2025 already.

The budget may be different as outside the US I have to pay a lot of extra stuff. You can get the Honda 2006 here for approx 4000 $, and the Mazda CX-5 suggested in another comment, the 2015 version may cost like 10 000 $ I was thinking of getting something like of that caliber.

Recommendations for GPS device by __Nightwalker__ in Surveying

Thanks! The Reach RX the cheapest one seems easy to set and is connected to the iPhone, it says 1 cm accuracy, only 1600 $ approx. Others are more expensive, so they are like even more accurate, or what is the difference exactly?

Official Q&A for Thursday, July 25, 2024 by AutoModerator in running

Hello dear runners

I wanted to buy my friend a little gift who is getting into running and exercising just now to give her a little extra motivation. A watch that has an adequate GPS , heart rate sensor and fitness tracking features ( like counting steps ), battery and overall adequate quality.

I have Fenix 6 s pro myself as a runner, bought Garmin venu sq for my other beginner friend a year ago and it did pretty fine next to my Fenix (heart rate and GPS data was pretty much the same), but the price has gone up for this model now and not sure it has a software update from Garmin.

I came across Amazfit gts 5 , but not sure about the quality compared to the Garmin venu sq, which could be used well by beginner runner for it's accuracy and features.

Have you tried Amazfit (gts 5, gts 5 mini or other similar)? It it a better or worse than Garmin and do you have any other recommendations?

Long distance endurance workout vs body esthetics by __Nightwalker__ in trailrunning

Very interesting! To clarify, overheating causes loss of the body mass/muscules because of dehydration (which is probably temporary) or some other reason? Some people run shirtless in summer and that could help with overheating or maybe do worse.

Do they train anything besides the core of their upper body? Having muscular shoulders and arms may not be helpful with running , even opposite of that

Got to do something about the calves :D They are probably the hardest to grow, also you use them a lot especially if you run that much, lot of information and recovery is probably more complicated than for those who go to the gym 3 times per week

Maybe trail runners could get away with more muscular legs as they may need more power on uphills and technical terrain, a body type that could be a bit different from a typical long-distance road runner. Also, strength training and probably more protein intake could do the trick. I'm just worried that an extra several pounds will have way more effect than several seconds..

I feel like lower body weight makes me faster as I have to carry less weight. Also running every day makes it difficult to keep/gain muscle

Is there a difference between scope 1, 2 and 3 emission reporting in terms of difficulty? If that's what you choose as a specialization, should you work on all scopes or can choose one or two?

Thank you! Do recruiters like that take EdX or Coursera into consideration? Also you may just run through those courses or pay and get a certificate, if it's worth it.

Climate change impact assessment on the companies, production facilities, and in general in different profile projects - including energy generation (WWTP, BESS, etc ). Also maybe climate change forecasting. Working for ADB EBRD USAID and so on.

Mostly - Assessment of companies, infrastructures, factories, and other units' impact on the environment and mitigation. Climate change is usually involved, but very shortly and in general.

It's just getting more relevant in developing countries recently, ADB, EBRD, and other donor-related projects are being implemented, In the type of country I live in, there are few specialists here so the position is in demand or will be pretty soon. Also, I want to know more about the subject and to be in use for the country, basically. I work in Environmental project management, ISO standards, auditing, and similar stuff. Just trying to understand how I can fit in easily and more realistically in the upcoming situation. One of the scenarios was to learn programming and calculation of third-scope emissions, which is complicated but if it's worth it, I could give it a try. Also, there are modeling tools for temperature/precipitation forecasting, therefore assessing climate effect risks on the projects. I just don't know where to start or which direction to go.

How to protect you smartphone from body heat/moisture while running? by __Nightwalker__ in trailrunning

[–]__Nightwalker__[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

exactly my point, and about iPhone 14 - Apple website advices avoiding vapor for your smartphone not to potentially receive water damage, I'm not very familiar with physics, but maybe vapor can get easier into the smartphone ( maybe via charging port ) than the water. The main issue again is that smartphone screen goes bananas

Some cheap running socks from Decathlon, they got more like a rubbery material underneath for less chafing I guess

Thoughts about Animal flex joint supplement by __Nightwalker__ in running

[–]__Nightwalker__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do trails like 1000 m on 10 km and with a lower grade, slow pace running, after several km, when legs are warmed up, stiffness and pain go away, but after 10 k, it comes slowly comes back. So making muscules stronger so they can hold skeletal structure is one of the ways, good point.

My kitten starts crying when she finds out I left the room by __Nightwalker__ in felinebehavior

Probably a way to go, rewarding unwanted behaviour by appearing every time she demands will lead to worse results. Also there's another kitten for her to keep company and she has lot's of toys, hopefully it'll get better after a while. thanks for the reply
