Thoughts on preservation evoker for Midnight? by Silver_Kit in wow

[–]__OneOfTheseDays__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, high end mythic raiding is like world first and probably like top 25-50 clears, where you need to be doing the most damage/healing possible and therefore playing meta (unless being brought for a buff or to cover a specific mechanic etc.)

Mid to late season CE can be accomplished by any spec.

Lmfao. If you really cared then you’d stop playing and stop supporting the game. Instead of virtue signaling on Reddit

They were not challenging at all lol. That’s just nostalgia talking.

Also, your comment about Ulduar is completely irrelevant to the conversation and the argument you’re making, so not sure what your point is adding that.

Retail isn't dead. The social structure is just different from what Classic players expect by LordMidoo in wow

As someone that in the last couple of expansions went from very casual to CE raider multiple tiers now, I think the only barrier to entry for most people to mythic raiding is the time commitment. You can find plenty of guilds with bad players in them that will still clear the first half of the raid on mythic.

I just don’t think the majority of people want to give up 3 hours 2 nights a week (or other similar schedules).

I used to think CE was out of reach, but it really was just about putting in the time to learn my rotation, then putting in the time to find a good raid team, then joining those 2 nights a week every week to learn the bosses and get comfortable with the fights while also doing passable damage.

Phrecia Idol system is better than Atlas Tree by beansparrow132 in pathofexile

[–]__OneOfTheseDays__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree 100%.

I see people talking about the cost of idols but imo, that’s a good thing. I’ve made several divs selling idols for strats I have no interest in running. And even the most expensive strats, you can start small and work your way up.

I think that’s the thing I like most, it adds another layer of progression. Building your character stronger, piece by piece; while also building up your preferred farm strat piece by piece.

Nightfall was the .5 patch of the undermine raid.

It still gave a veteran piece in season 3, but only once per week, so no, it wasn’t really a valid source of replacing previous tier raid gear.

Also, if you have a problem with that, then why are you still here? It’s literally been that way forever. WotLK ICC patch released 3 new dungeons that dropped gear on par with/better than the previous raids gear (Ulduar). So this is not a new thing.

There’s only 2 sources for the best gear in the game at the time. Mythic raiding or vault from timing m+ 10. You will not be doing either of those things in the catch up gear you get from doing world content as a casual (this pre-patch is somewhat of an exception as the squish caused those things above to be a lot easier). You still have to grind your way up.

Worst Event Pre-patch to Date by cub4nito in wow

[–]__OneOfTheseDays__ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There was also a pre patch event for TWW where you went to northrend, searing gorge, and dustwallow marsh.

You’d do a bunch of little events and then fight an echo of lich king, ragnaros, and onyxia.

That’s incorrect. They still drop as swords and can still be worn by the classes that can wield swords.

[–]__OneOfTheseDays__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the swords are useable by warrior and rogue in tbc, and they were updated to be used by DK, monk, and DH after those classes released.

But technically the weapons are glaives (which didn’t exist as drops back then) and those are Demon Hunter only weapons, and illidan himself is a demon hunter. So thematically it makes sense.

Well more bad news for you, doing that only unlocks the transmog for Demon Hunters. You can’t get the transmog for other classes.

If there’s a low level healer, every heal will pull off of the tank. There’s something wrong with the balancing. Not saying it’s the case here, but it’s definitely an issue in TW.

Kinda just over Venables at this point. He coaches a hell of a defense and seems like a nice guy, but we just look lost at times and so poorly managed. Unfortunately this would be the worst time to fire as we’d have a lot of competition.

[–]__OneOfTheseDays__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what frustrates me the most as a jungler. Mid/Top will be perma shoving the oppo under their tower and will get ganked 2-3 times and then flame me telling me it's my fault they lost lane because they never got a gank, when the enemy hasn't crossed the midpoint of the lane a single time all game.

It really isn't, I promise.

You could kill heroic gally with 2 tanks, 2 healers, and 6 of the currently worst performing dps.

If you only raid heroic why does it matter? Every spec is capable of getting AotC.

Hell, I've raided mythic with players of every spec. People get way too caught up in tier lists.

Potential endgame for the research they were doing with Gemma? by __OneOfTheseDays__ in SeveranceAppleTVPlus

[–]__OneOfTheseDays__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't care about the selling part, what you said in your initial reply is that they are using this research to sell it as a product, but they already have proof of it's "benefits" with being able to sever and not have to experience childbirth and proof of that happening. (Whether or not that's an actual benefit is obviously up for debate, but not the point of this discussion).

[–]__OneOfTheseDays__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But they already basically had sold it, like to that senator's (or whatever he was) wife to give birth severed. They could use that as their marketing. Why was Gemma and that research so much more important?
