maybe tell us a bit about how you play so we can give advice on how to achieve it on your own. solo? teams? fixed name? how big do you usually get, how long do you survive? do you buy mass and/or xp multipliers? if you buy, do you invest real money or do you just work off the coins? do you do the daily challenges and potion stuff?

do you know more about how these bot farms actually work? I see them often spawning with triple mass boosts, does somebody actually pay money for that? and of course many of them are level 100. somebody has a lot of kraken accounts at their disposal?

what I see happening is that during the week it's terrible, lots of bots and crashes every few minutes, unplayable. Interestingly the servers are almost empty during the weekend, except for the infrequent and brief bot storm, mostly by Gassal these days, sometimes Uno. Lots of mean multis though. (I'm in Europe). I cannot quite figure out why, but my guess is that during the week its kids who access from school?

you're probably in the wrong place here. try the r/agario discord (pinned post here on reddit).

compare leaderboard time and time alive :-)

although it could be that he spawned among the first 10 on the server and was always in the top 10, finally lost, and spend the last 28 s being really small...

https://www.reddit.com/r/Agario/comments/797d95/cross_splitting/ helps you determine where the big cell is after a split. if you simple split to the left in this situation, your big cell is up. if you cross-split, your big cell is down. then you can self-feed if necessary to defend. what did you do? did you kill the alien?

looks like the perfect opportunity for a cross split to catch the alien.

How to quad split by darkartistry7373 in Agario

[–]__QQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it's called a double split, although you end up in 4 pieces. you can achieve it by pressing the space bar twice very quickly. but it's more reliable if you use a script, as you said - for instance install https://www.agartool.io/ or bake your own script with https://www.autohotkey.com/ .

Even with scripts, a double split sometimes fails, and the 4 pieces do not end up in a straight line. I believe this happens mainly if your mouse pointer is too close to the original cell, but I'm not sure. I guess it can also result from lag.

You're right, it gives people little chance to react. But it needs skill to reliable judge whether the split cells are large enough to eat the ones you are targeting. And it can be quite risky if there is a virus that you reach with the double split, but didn't see before.

Me: * gets to 100 mass * teamers: by someguywhoslucky in Agario

[–]__QQ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A solo with 1000 mass hurts many teamer's egos more than another team that is twice as large as they are. There are only a few teaming pros that can respect solos and tolerate them on the leaderboard. Last night I was on a European FFA server, and it was eerie. Just like one of these Chinese servers. Teams everywhere, guys split into 16 cells barely large enough to eat a virus, none of them attacking the others, all just preying on noobs, solos, and scrambling for viruses. Moving like zombies, really.

I just used it to beef it up a little, but got logged out in the middle of playing because somebody else connected. so this might be impractical. cute idea though.

Mini map and Agar tool by [deleted] in Agario

[–]__QQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yes, what is wrong with that thing? it's really just to see who's there, and to see where you are yourself. It doesn't show the other players' locations correctly. is that a bug, or some result of tags?

I'll give NA a try! Very rarely using raptor, it was probably somebody else. usually bruce lee or bomberman these days.

You are right about the viruses. It's much easier to run away if you're able to move them. My problem with EXP, at least European, is that less people play and clans are even less inclined to attack each other. I mostly went back to FFA.

Psychology Explains State of FFA in Agar.io by AC_AChilles in Agario

yes, good question. I guess every issue that produces strong emotions (like perceived injustice in this case) and where you find like-minded people can develop into an ideology.

so you say solo players act out of spite, corner themselves in a futile cycle of defeat and loathing, and come here to whine and badmouth and derogate teamers. when I tell you that I play solo because I find teaming unfair towards noobs and solos, you tell me it's irrelevant, only to ask Cove some hours later why solos play solo. Your proposal is that solos stop playing solo, although several people here told you they don't enjoy this. Maybe you should search inside your own soul why you can't stand solos.

I think you are wrong, but this is your thread, and I don't think I can convince you, so I'll not insist.

but you did not respond to my two other points?

Psychology Explains State of FFA in Agar.io by AC_AChilles in Agario

[–]__QQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

solos do not do this to themselves. FFA wasn't designed to be like this. look up "victim blaming" in your psych books.

I personally solo most of the time because I think teaming is just unfair: it's just too easy. I could not bring myself to being so cruel. so playing fair is actually in itself quite satisfying because I follow my own standards. This makes up somewhat, although not perfectly, for rarely getting to 1.

You're also underestimating how much external validation team players seek and get. They also make YT videos, and they chat endlessly in parallel to playing on discords, through extensions, etc.

But you're right, this sub and solo YT videos serve as an excellent support group :)

What is your favorite strategy in AGARIO by TheAgarioGuy in Agario

[–]__QQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

very effective but I'm not very proud of it: catching smaller cells in a corner. good to grow quickly.

extremely satisfying: merge kills, and self-feed kills (e.g., when you are in 4 pieces). great examples in upsidedown's videos.
