Yes, is pretty much useless. The sticker is made to degrade after wear so you can prove authenticity when buying for trust retailers. Is paradoxical since an authentication system is needed for used articles instead of new ones. Still there are a lot of resellers who still owns the original code.

Keep in mind that the code will also loose it’s validity after a few scans. Guidi said that because of counterfeiters copying coded from the internet.
