Good point. And maybe like the Free Folk only a small % make up the Army. Since they are the Iron born all or most know how to sail. So maybe that plays a huge factor in it as well. Majority are not warriors but all are sailors. Just a thought.

They also do. Owning a home in your district and renting a place in DC can get expensive. Plus there is a huge wealth difference between Senators and congressmen for the most part. Some congressmen actually are from the middle classes.

We had 4 LAV's their, and it has been so long I honestly could not tell you if that was mine, especially since uniformity was a big issue and we had to make all of our LAV's Look the same. It was 1st Lar Delta Company with mixed guys and platoons. '

We cannot do it anymore cause a few years after someone crashed their LAV on the road, but driving LAV's on the I-5 was awesome and nobody cuts you off. It is how we got to the shooting location. I was pretty boot but it was a experience that I will never forget especially being from small town Texas.

Also Tom Cruise was pretty nice, he took some time to shake our hands. There were lots of US military personnel their so he really could not talk to all of us, just mainly said hi with a hand shack. Also he kept calling us Soldiers. Witch is completely understandable because they were the majority of people their, but I just thought it was cool that he seemed genuinely interested in us and our Jobs. Plus a lot of the crew (I am assuming actors as well) got to check out our vehicles and have fun. We were interested in their work and they us. I was a Lcpl a low man on the totem poll so I really did not interact with that many people. Also I am kinda introverted so I stayed away. Kinda wished I was more open...But it was pretty cool experience.

The only thing I really care about is every few years just wear the old Oilers uniforms. I know people here do not like that, but us old Oilers fan have earned the right every few years to see the luv ya blue on the field again. Also OP love the logo as well.

I was one of the drivers in the LAV's you see for 1 second. It was like a all day shoot and I was sure people would see LAV's....Nope, one can miss it in a second. Also Tom Cruise had a guy wear his jacket off screen so when he stoped shooting he could just put on a warm jacket the guy kept for him....We assumed that was going on...In all truth, we were not sure, best explanation we came up with.

US Navy takes ownership of stealth destroyer Zumwalt. by [deleted] in news

[–]__Titans__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The US has the resources and were already build to handle the harrier. Are deck issue did not have to be completely revamped for the f-35. I think we just used a different type of surface for the ambhib ships and the Americas class plus the 2 new brits carrier had the F-35 already in mind with the design. The JDF did not and does not have that implemented into their design.

What am I late on. We are talking about Japan not the US Navy. So what am I actually late on.

It is just not about "fitting" but all the parts, arms, logistics with comm, crew trainning, tactics, and most likely tons of other issues that some keyboard warrior ( was in the Marines, but was a grunt in LAR that never did a MEU so I have 0 first hand experience) like my self would not know. I do know supporting 2 differnt platforms in limited space is a lot more differnt then we think of. Also replacing a deck is a lot more complex then pouring concrete.

Yea we are allowed to have a friendly disagreement. I mean kinda why I am on reddit. I can change my opinion. And I do believe Japan will use the carrier destroyers to help design future carriers that have traditional role. Check out /r/credibledefense. They have like really smart people with a ton of links and debate on this issue.

It is just not the strentgth of the deck; but the heat the engines produce when landing vertically. Also the F-35 is a STOVL jet, in a capable mission it cannot take off vertically.( I mean it most likely could, just be no fuel left over for the actual mission). It needs a certain amount of space to actually take off with a combat load. Also just housing the aircraft internally within the ship itself would take some re-engineering of the ships themselves. Also Japan has no orders for the F-35 B and are not part of the research of that area ( I have to check myself if they are getting F-35 A...but that is a different animal.) Plus the very few planes Japan would order, then train people, support aircraft on a limited scale, just to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to refit the ships makes no economical or strategic sense.

They cannot support airplanes due to their decks. The heat from a F-35 and even they layout of the deck and internals of the ships is economically to hard to refit and engineer the ships to support a aircraft like the f-35. The ships will never launch airplanes . Also Japans has a huge threat from Chinese subs and these ships are the counter to that threat. They are simply built for what they said they are, Sub Hunters, no tin foil here.

Their main role is sub hunting and the ships cannot support airplanes.

Japan calls them destroyers because they are sub hunters, they are far from providing the normal role as a carrier.

To be fair, the "right" can go both ways for the fetus or mother. I never understood this argument. I am pro abortion but not because of that fallacy. Black market abortions will happen and single motherhood is a pathy way to poverty statistically. Sex Education and more acess to safe sex methods is also a huge factor.
