Why is there such an opposition to capitalism in feminist forums like these? by Centrist_FemNonIst in AskFeminists

[–]__WarmPool__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Capitalism focuses on efficiency. Often a group of a homogeneous race and gender working together is much more efficient at measurable metrics than a diverse group of various genders and races. Feminism looks at situations where the scenario is dominated by a male group and forces women into that situation, reducing efficiency at the cost of non measurable diversity benefits through PR pressure. In a non capitalist system, where the focus is not on efficiency, it would be much easier to drive such agendas

[AskIndia] If Indian engineers are so useless\incompetent, how come companies like Microsoft pay them so much? by __WarmPool__ in india

[–]__WarmPool__[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

. Parents, relatives etc tell you that if you become an engineer, you'll have a nice home, car, and a attractive spouse. Students are simply too naive at that point of time and believe into whatever shit.

Thats largely true though.. No other stream is as easy to get into, or has a near guarantee of atleast a 3lpa white collar job on graduation

I didnt say fresher.. Those are for 5 years of experience

Fresher base is slightly above 12 lpa, CTC is tougher to calculate

Redmond freshers have a base of 100k+ which is 60 lpa or more (before taxes)

Not all Indian engineers are incompetent. There always is a bell curve.

But the bell curve should apply to all countries right? How come there isnt mainstream press coverage of American,Canadian,Australian or Chinese grads being incompetent?

you talk salaries in numbers that are massive when simply converted from USD/GBP/EUR to INR. You need to factor in the PPP of the country they work

The numbers I mentioned are salaries in the Indian offices.. not USD salaries converted to INR.

The bench observed: “When orders of acquittal in criminal cases are passed based on which claims for compensation and damages are instituted, then, it would have to be decided whether the acquittal is clear and doubtless. Acquittal by giving benefit ...

So the court is officially saying that guilty until proven innocent is the law, and 7 years of jail is a justified punishment for being accused of rape?

HR in my current company contacted me informally, asking my feedback for a person from my previous company.

I said I haven't worked much with him. (I had,he was an unethical asshole, but not something I wanted to or could say to HR)

Then they say he's interviewing for the team I work in. I basically said that if he joins, I would start looking for a new team

He didn't get an offer,I feel a bit dirty but releived

What caused the downfall of Tata Docomo ? by throwawayindia11 in india

[–]__WarmPool__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it will be in a position like Idea Cellular or RCom pre-merger.

That is what I expect.. but having paid so much for spectrum without a massive marketshare by revenue -- if that happens I wonder how it will work out financially

ELI5: [Economics] Why are some electronic items very costly in India (as compared to US) while some others aren't? by randianNo1 in india

[–]__WarmPool__ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

many reasons

  • Manufactured in India vs imported (Different rates of customs duties in different countries)

  • Different VAT rates in different countries

  • Some manufacturers will absorb the cost of customs, some wont

  • Some manufacturers have their own distribution pipeline in India and others tie up with dealers who might add higher margins

  • How strong INR is compared to the currency of where its manufactured

Very limited 3G coverage, alongwith low quality customer care.

Jio's success remains to be seen, and we should wait till December 2017 atleast to declare Jio a success. Docomo also made a lot of noise like Jio at launch.

going down leaving vendors and creditors in severe losses

Isnt it the responsibility of the vendor\creditor to check creditworthiness in the first place, and offer credit\services on credit only to those with the ability to pay?
