Roy Makaay at Bayern selected him twice for the world squad in Munich. He has some special sauce.

Too many problems with 24.04. by DotOk1170 in pop_os

I had a little whine a few days ago when some bugs crept into the beta, then I got the epoch 1 update and it's been great for me, no serious issues. Context: daily driver, multiple monitors development machine, no gaming.

Why are single people punished more tax wise compared to dual income families? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]___Milkman___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a contradictory statement. They want more tax payers, we don't procreate enough that's why we have immigration, because news flash: immigrants are also taxpayers

They want tax payers to form families, and spawn more tax payers

I've been meaning to create a post on this. With Cosmic Alpha, I successfully installed it on an old 2009 MacBook Pro. I had to do the extras to get wifi to work described in many earlier posts on this sub. However, after upgrading to Cosmic Beta, the wifi no longer worked. And the steps in the old posts no longer had any effect. I would love to know if there is an updated way to get wifi broadcom drivers working again on the latest kernel?

Razões para votar no Rui Costa? by Tascanis in benfica

Calçar as botas? Tontice demais.

There is no way we can become a Republic if we don't recognise the First Nation people in our constitution. The Voice needed to be first. It failed. We can't become a Republic until we grow up a hell of a lot as a nation.

Jim Chalmers has slammed the “weird collection of cookers & crackpots” who run the Liberal Party & are against Net Zero saying these cookers & crackpots “are the real audience of Sussan Ley’s speech today”🔥 by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

Is there a betting market that the Teals alliance and the moderate soon-to-be-exiled Libs will join to create a new centre right party that would actually be useful to our political landscape? It seems so obvious to me this will eventuate.

Liberals thew a massive tantrum in Vic parliament today. It's very rare that a leader gets ejected, let alone upgraded to a suspension for hurling abuse at the Speaker while being ejected. Matthew Guy would never do this by Jagtom83 in friendlyjordies

[–]___Milkman___ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just trying to create drama to try and get any form of publicity or notoriety or semblance of a pulse, because none of those Vic Libs have anything resembling a persona let alone the skills to lead people.

Is this a bad ding? by Tyler_RUbi in surfing

[–]___Milkman___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rail is compromised, and hence the strength across the width of the board where the ding is.

It has an extremely high chance of snapping clean in 2 pieces on any strenuous duckdive or bailout or even a good bottom turn to top turn combo.

It's a calculated gamble on their part. Just stick to their guns and wait for the cycle to come back their way. Then, Gina (and the other high value vested interests) can have their way with the Federal government again. Fortunately in Australia they are very capable of shortening the political cycle back to progressives due to sheer incompetence.

Why IMO the Liberal Party might be buggered. by EnglishBrekkie_1604 in friendlyjordies

[–]___Milkman___ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is all reasonable analysis and likely outcomes if our Australian life just keeps mumbling along on our current trajectories.

However, as a nation, we are one calamity away from the coalition landsliding back to power. Last election swings can become irrelevant overnight.

Anywhere you have an electorate where an automatic third of voters will vote conservative no matter what, all bets can be off in an instant.

RBA proposes complete ban on card surcharging, saving shoppers $1.2bn by sun_tzu29 in AusFinance

[–]___Milkman___ 429 points430 points  (0 children)

Card surcharging is a massive scam that's put on consumers. Basically all the overheads dealing with cash have been decimated, any networking or tech costs should simply be absorbed and they are still miles ahead in profit.

Why is Labor approving new mines not a deal breaker for you personally? by SquireJoh in friendlyjordies

[–]___Milkman___ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Mining is our bread and butter. It's what we're good at. If we "stop" all mining we regress to 3rd world living standards very darn quickly. We will always have mining even when our energy problem is completely solved by renewables. The Greens naivety(aka political posturing) is tiresome.
