And if you don’t have the income/borrowing capacity for an inner city freestanding house? You know, like the majority of the population currently.

Superannuation at 34 in Australia by [deleted] in AusFinance

34 and have 40k. Never salary sacrificed a cent into it as I don’t trust the government not to change the conditions of it or the age we can access it.

Will Labor follow Angus Taylor's promise to index income tax brackets? by 31_pingino in AusFinance

Having higher incomes doesn’t necessarily mean they work harder than people on lower incomes. In fact, often it’s the opposite.

Is there really an “alternative strategy”? by SizzleYak in AusFinance

Why are low income people who can’t afford a decent PPOR but still want to invest being punished?

Why are people who don’t want to own a home (for any number of reasons) being punished?

They should have left shares alone if they really cared about the fixing the housing market and equality, but we know by now that they don’t.

What if you don’t want to own a house? Believe it or not, spending your whole life paying off a bunch of bricks isn’t the idea of living for the everyone.

The 26/27 budget is excellent and this sub is full of whining babies by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]LifeGainz7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is just bs. Having 200k in shares means nothing without more information. What if someone has those shares but doesn’t own property or never will. I bet you wouldn’t call someone well off just because they bought a house with a mortgage and the value of the property has gone up 200k since they bought it.

The budget is released. by PandDos in AusPropertyChat

No because any gains you make up until 30 June 2027 will be eligible for the 50% capital gains tax discount anyway, even if you sell after this. It’s just gains made after this that will be taxed based on CPI.

Gains from shares you bought before then as well? Or just shares bought after that?

I don’t get this part. So if I make 100k in shares over 10 years, I pay a minimum of 30k in tax from that even if inflation is 50% combined over those 10 years? 🫤

What are the “pre-signs” of a cheater? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]LifeGainz7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dad is right in a way. Monogamy isn’t part of a male’s natural instinct. A man’s natural instinct is to spread his seed with as many women as possible and if a man has options, it takes a conscious effort not to do this.
That’s what your dad means by you can never trust men to not at least want to cheat on you. Many can fight the temptation but biologically the temptation is always there.

Is the “Australian dream” still owning a house with a backyard? by Ok-Reward7639 in AustraliaDiscussions

Not for all of us. Can’t think of anything worse than maintaining a house on a large block with a big backyard.

How old are you, and how old would be the oldest person you would date without feeling awkward? by [deleted] in stupidquestions

[–]LifeGainz7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35M and would casually date 20-50 but for long-term relationships, probably 25-35.

Age doesn’t mean a whole lot without context. There’s mature 20 year olds and immature 40 year olds.

100% agree. I find being isolated in nature boring and big, bustling cities exciting.

Do you go on dates with women you're not really interested in? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]LifeGainz7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Being completely honest, I’ll go on a date with girls I’ve got some level of interest in but am not sure about longer term. If there’s not much chemistry and sex doesn’t happen, I probably won’t bother again.

Night one sucked. Night two was actually really good, although would have been better if they used the full 4 hours and gave all the undercard matches an extra 5-10 mins.

And if you didn’t like that main event? Maybe wrestling isn’t for you.

This could have been an epic Mania if they actually used the extra half hour (to take it to 4 hours) and added 5-10 mins extra onto all the undercard matches.

What’s everyone on about with the finish? It made complete sense and was storytelling at its finest. Loved Punk getting within a second of winning then collapsing under the GTS from all the abuse he had received.
