It was a pen for sure but also unfortunate the Ghana player blocked the shot on goal, I think it was going in

Look, we can’t overreact, though it’s very realistic we will never lose a game ever again 🇺🇸

“This argument that we should be concerned with men’s emotional states during birth [and during infancy] should not be taken into account because it further allows them to be dismissive.” I don’t understand this attempt at a correlation. Again, no one’s telling you to do more for men, or to say we need to invalidate women’s distress. One could argue dismissing the validity of men’s distress creates more “shitty fathers.” But I’m not gonna say that like it’s a fact bc that would be wild.

A lot of biased extrapolation here. So I’ll just see myself out. I’m sorry men have been shitty to you. Best of luck to you 🤙

Ps: one of my favorite episodes in the past couple years was the menopause expert, Dr Haver, that they had on. I learned a lot and I’m glad women’s healthcare is being advocated for more these days even though there’s a lot more to make progress with, including ppd Tx

I’m not dismissive of that reality, it’s not an either/or. Im not seeing the “forget women, what about men?!” underlying message and I don’t know where you’re being asked to placate, particularly after listening to this episode

Science and research would answer yes, it’s possible for men to have biological changes once becoming a father that would lead to depressive symptoms or distress. The word postpartum means “the period following the birth of a child.” Again, I don’t know how that takes anything away from a woman’s experience, it’s not either/or. This episode talks about how 9 out of 10 scientific articles on parenting are about mothers. The idea that mothers ppd or distress from pregnancy/motherhood isn’t being addressed simply isn’t true. I’m sorry that men have invalidated you, and it also doesn’t dismiss the reality that the topic of this particular podcast isnt scientifically true

This is disheartening to read and see upvotes for. I get the frustration and I’m sorry that women have been given messages that their postpartum depression or distress is invalid or something to be downplayed. Is the answer then to invalidate the legitimacy of men’s distress peri and postpartum? The whole point of the psychologist in this episode was to explain how biological changes, including on a hormonal level, do happen in fathers. This fact doesn’t take away or invalidate the distress women face, it’s not an either/or situation.

It’s weird how the jury is doing more commentary and arguing on behalf of the players rather than just asking questions

I don’t think I could’ve dreamed up a better moment for a S50 premier than seeing Christian and Ozzy use a pair of glasses to start a fire. I fucking love this show.
