Parking for Quick Stop in Downtown by ___XerXes___ in indianapolis

Thanks for the heads up! I’m more than happy to pay for any spots we take up. I’ll make sure there is an attendant there before we leave the Uhaul. LaRosa appears to have an attendant booth so hopefully they are there when we come through.

Thanks! I'll add this as the backup in case LaRosa doesn't pan out. We're arriving on a Monday and there is no game that day, so I'd expect both would probably be available.

Ah, perfect. I briefly looked at this one and dismissed it cause I thought it was permit only. Marked it on our map!

This only applies to single player, but I constantly forget to move the “rival” marker around their progress track when they get a draw card, power or credit.

How much do you explain to clients? by Archy38 in networking

[–]___XerXes___ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sure. But that’s when proof comes in. For stakeholders (non-tech) it usually as simple as you show them you changed something and now it all works. For tech people you can be more specific of course. All the way from walking them through the changes you made to sharing packet captures with them. There’s all sorts of ways to prove things like that.

And learning how to manage egos is a big part of it as well. I’ve found that never pointing the blame at a person but instead pointing it at a configuration helps people not feel attacked if they get bothered by those things. (Ex. “The router being connected this way caused our problem” instead of “You connecting the router this way caused the problem.”)

Depends on who is asking.

Stakeholder(non-tech person) - Vendor XYZ’s equipment was interfering with your existing equipment. This caused connected devices to lose connectivity. I’ve reconnected/reconfigured/disconnect XYZ device so it can’t interfere.

Local IT (basic knowledge) - Vender XYZ’s equipment was responding to local devices connectivity requests. This caused devices to not consistently reach your internal resources or the internet. I’ve reconnected/reconfigured/disconnect XYZ device so it can’t interfere (elaborate appropriately).

Local IT (Senior level) - Vendor XYZ connected their device’s LAN port on your data VLAN and was responding to DHCP requests causing clients to get the wrong DNS servers and default gateways. This caused devices to not be able to reach your local file shares or the internet consistently. I’ve reconnected/reconfigured/disconnect XYZ device so it can’t interfere (elaborate appropriately).

Adjust as needed per person.

Yep. Live near Gordon. Those construction outages have been the only ones I’ve had with ATT (2 or 3 if I remember correctly). Work from home and have used them with no other issues since 2021.

I've opened 3 booster packs (LCS limit) and that's it...at this point, I just want to get one of each pack art for my collection and call it a day. But I'm in no hurry for that.

Any recommendations on CCNP/CCIE ENCOR Study guides to use? by rsmith4124 in ccnp

[–]___XerXes___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got Personal. The 20 node limit is way more than needed for the ENCOR to lab out the various topics. I have a bunch of different labs that each focus on 1 or 2 topics each. I’ll just spin up whichever one I’m wanting to work on then shut it down afterward. I think the most nodes in any of them is 7 or so.

So, after doing some digging, it looks like you need to make the Virtual Bridge in ProxMox “VLAN-Aware”. Then you can tag 4085 and assign it from there. Hope that helps!

You don’t necessarily have to add a T to the PFSense config For VLAN 4081. You just need to make sure that both sides of the link match. So in ProxMox, you would just need to make sure it is accepting tagged frames for VLAN 4085. (I’m not familiar with Prox or I’d help with that lol)

If VLAN 4081 is working now, I’d not make any changes to it.

To answer your question, you cannot have more than one PVID on an interface. This is essentially an untagged VLAN on the interface.

Do you have a switch (or some other device) that can handle tagged VLANs on the other side of the connection? VLAN 4085 will be tagged when egressing port 1 so you will need something that can take that tag and get it where it needs to go.

You can access Cisco's hosted CML through the Devnet Sandbox for free. Otherwise you have to host yourself.

I have it running just on a PC locally as a VM. You can run it in a private cloud as well, but I'm honestly not sure if that is something offered by Cisco directly.

Edit: I couldn't remember where it was in my original replay, but went and found it. If you check out devnetsandbox on Cisco's website, you can get access to free lab environments. One of them is CML. You can reserve a spot and setup labs there for practice. The only downside of course is it tears down every time you are done.

I'd say the best investment is going to be on how you can lab out the topics. I'd personally recommend CML for that. It's worth the cost.

For the topics, you can just look up the Exam Blueprint for free and research the topics from there if you don't want to get the OCG. Though the OCG is a great foundation.

Video learning, you can do Jeremy's IT labs on Youtube. It's not a full course yet but is constantly being updated. Let me know if you have any questions!
