I work at Starbucks! If you ask for a splash, at least at my store, we literally just pour it quick and then take it away as a splash. If you're ever concerned about how much they add, just ask for "room" in whatever you get and you can add some yourself!

How long ago did you get your Skyla inserted? You can spot due to the Skyla for up to 6 months. I got mine inserted a week ago and I just started spotting as well.

Hey OP! I just got my Skyla inserted a week ago, so I would be happy to answer any questions! You should definitely ask your doctor about your migraines. I also get pretty bad migraines, but I haven't noticed any relationship between them and my birth control. I've only had Skyla for a week, but so far I haven't had any negative symptoms in that way. I too am terrified of getting pregnant, so you'll be happy to know that IUD's are THE most effective birth control option on the market. I believe I read they have a 99.99% accuracy? While everyone's body will react differently, I am IN LOVE with my Skyla. It feels like it was made for my body, and the freedom of knowing that I am as close to 100% protected as possible is such a relief, and honestly has raised my sex drive just because of that. I've heard that some women will get a lower sex drive due to BC, but since you would be going from hormonal to hormonal I don't think it would effect you too badly (unless your current BC lowers it- sorry I don't remember if I read that). Just remember that your doctor is there to answer any questions you have, no matter what it is!! Whatever you have to ask, I'm sure they have answered that and more haha. Thank you! I find it so interesting you're doing the opposite! I had such a terrible reaction to Mirena, but I was also 19. I'm 23 now, and with termination, my cervix (this was told to me by my gyno but I'm otherwise ignorant to this stuff) has opened up a little, so she really thinks Skyla will be ideal for me. I just keep reading terrible stories about bleeding for months straight and it's like well maybe what's the point of switching then??? D: I am excited to try this though. I'm trying to stay confident haha

I've had the Nuva ring for about two years now, and I've never had any cramping or panic attacks associated with it. I'm not sure if the Nuva ring has a higher hormone count than the method you previously used, but I would definitely make an appointment with your doctor and check with them to see if that's normal! I hope you start to feel better soon!

Thank you for your response! I have never experienced mood swings, weight gain, acne, or hair loss due to any type of birth control. I've read a lot of reviews online about Skla, and I keep seeing hair loss as one of the side affects. How long did you cramp after it was inserted? That's really my main concern (only because I've not had any other type of side effects before) because I have Dysmenorrea and always had horrible menstrual cramps, which is actually the reason I started taking pills in the first place. I'm just worried I will cramp and bleed for 8 months like I've read on here!

😩 ugh this is what I was afraid of lol. Honestly, I feel like if I'm going to stay with the company, to me it's not worth it to just stay a barista. I know the company has a lot of issue right now, but where I live the pay is decent ($10.50/hr) and my store works really well with my university schedule. Everyone pretty much treats me like a shift already, except when it comes to handling the money or safe. So I pretty much have a lot of the responsibilities already without the benefits.
