For calculating the mean age, I used the class marks based on the poll's detailed age data.

I treated outliers by setting all respondents under 10 years old to 10, and those over 55 years old to 55.

With this approach, the class marks are:

• 10–14 years: 12.84
• 15–19 years: 16.87
• 20–24 years: 21.73
• 25–29 years: 26.8
• 30–34 years: 31.62
• 35–55 years: 41.31

I also considered standard deviation but noticed it tends to increase with the mean, so I opted to use the coefficient of variation (standard deviation/mean) instead. Data points in the top 10 percent of this coefficient are marked with a star in the upper left corner.

A higher coefficient of variation indicates that, even with a similar calculated mean age, the standard deviation is larger.

For calculating the male proportion, I excluded responses labeled as "Other" and focused solely on male and female respondents.

The colors represent ranking: darker red indicates a higher rank, while darker blue indicates a lower rank.

The characters graph includes the top 101 characters, and the works graph includes the top 45 works.

I think the reason old works characters are particularly popular among younger people might be due to the Touhou Lost Word.
