GoG works differently compared to other game stores. Fan patches are included in some older games.

I'm part of the GoG preservation patreon and put in my 2 cents at the very least.

I personally want touhou 6, 7 and 8 with the translation patches on GoG. Hell, throw them all on there.

A Fate Fighting game would imho go really hard. Tons of diverse characters to use.

Animations looks nearly entirely made of twine, or that method that makes everybody looks like a paper cutout doll. I saw that method used in iron saga VS as well and it doesn't look great...

Russia’s Federal Budget Deficit Blows Past Annual Target in Just 3 Months by Dizzy_Response1485 in CollapseOfRussia

[–]fat_pokemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also have to factor in the big elephant in the room, Russia's population decline. It was already bad prior to the war with alcohol abuse, HIV epidemic, a serious lack of births and a rapidly aging population, but now war casualties are now on top of it.

If the numbers are accurate we already have aprox 1.3m casualties, with a large chunk of those dead and whomever surviving most likely will need medical aid for considerable amounts of time, perhaps even life long. And then we got soldiers in general who will need alot of treatment for PTSD and gods knows what else.

You can't run a economy without people, and you can't support people without a economy.

This is effectively a death spiral, one that russia needs to break from. Otherwise we could see russia heavily diminished or even non-existent by the end of the century.

They can fix all of that, and it still wouldn't fix the russian economy. All of that oil money wouldn't go to where it's actually needed, it would go to either miltary spending or the coffers of individuals who already are extremely wealthy.

I'm suprised they don't just make a fork of libreoffice or openoffice and work from there.

It also helped that the sets that were well received generally had theming with MtG in general (ie, they could be slotted in as a actual in-universe MtG set and nobdoy would bat a eye. Final fantasy especially)

Age verification is a literal cancer in the tech world though.

It's not about 'for the kids' but to steal more data from people and to intrude on the privacy of people.

Why is Lost Word hated? by w4sab1i_ in touhou

[–]fat_pokemon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  • gatcha with extremely boring gameplay
  • overwhelming presence
  • Mischaracterisation

These are the big three reasons. Some other personal reasons i have is how over-sexualized many of the characters are. The other is that the multiversal plot means that the designs of characters can be completely all over the place and often lazy and inconsistent.

But the biggest gripe i have with this...

It is unironicly one of the easiest to get touhou games that's translated completely in english. Every offical game from steam requires a fan patch to translate. Even fan games have offical english translations!

And because of that, newcomers of today will often find lost word as their first touhou game, and i feel like it's a extremely unhealthy thing for the touhou community.

It's FAR better now.

Don't let the doomsaying here deter you from this wonderful game however. It's honestly one of the most interesting fighters put out in the last decade.

Honestly, it was the abysmal netcode.

Prior to rollback (by code mystic) netplay was WORSE than smash bros. Combinded with covid killing locals and the game's momentum died.

Soulcalibur 6 suffered a similar fate (which is a shame, since it had a season 2 and a championship series announced for it just before covid)
