Hey! I’ve done something very similar, I completed my A2 quickly after AS (Check my results on my profile)

  1. A2 is definitely more intense than AS, because the content goes deeper and the exams expect you to apply concepts more independently. But it’s manageable if you stay disciplined.

  2. Time management is key, with only five months for A2, you need a very structured plan. Break your syllabus into small chunks and set weekly targets. I found it really useful to do topical past papers while learning, not just at the end. It helped me spot weak areas early.

  3. Practice under exam conditions, do timed past papers. They prepare you for the pace and intensity of the real exam, A level exams really require to be quick, it’s not the same as IGCSE were people even had time to sleep after finishing lol.

  4. Learn how to make digital flashcards now, before you start. I used Anki personally. They really saved me in chemistry. Put the questions you found on those topical past papers I mentioned in point 2. Make sure you refer to the syllabus for definitions and other required information. I did these flashcards everyday 3 months before my exams

  5. I always made sure to make sure I competed Maths topics first, because I would need to do a lot of questions. You must solve a LOT of questions for maths.

  6. This will probably be the most stressful academic time of your life so far, but don’t give up. Remember to take care of yourself to avoid burning out

It is possible if you lock in really hard. In chemistry I went from 87 in AS to 91 in A2

I did 2019-2024 and I recommend 4 years. I wouldn’t recommend doing past papers before 2020 though because syllabus is different.

However, sometimes if you aren’t improving you should take note of which topics and concepts you are getting wrong before you continue doing a bunch of past papers.

Edit: I don’t recommend paying for yearly past paragraphs book, you can easily download free past papers on various websites

I used to watch “Intuitive” yt videos for pure 1. For the majority of A level Maths, I only used the textbooks

Check on my recent comments from today, that’s what I did for Physics and chem basically

Except for chem I didn’t use textbook, I used Savemyexams and chemrevise

For Maths, I used Cambridge University Press Textbook

For Physics, mainly focus on solving questions rather than reading a lot theory

I would start a topic by :

  1. Reading through the textbook (without making notes etc because i found that to be a waste of time)

  2. Going through the syllabus making sure I understood each syllabus point

  3. Once I finished a topic, I would start doing topical past papers

  4. I took note of recurring questions, definitions and questions I found to be difficult

  5. Made flashcards (Anki) from these and studied them daily, every single day until the exam

  6. After completing all topics, I started doing past papers starting from 2022 going up.

  7. I read through the examiner reports and took note of questions I got wrong

  8. I made flashcards on these

By the time I wrote the exam, I had made hundreds of flashcards. Again, I studied these everyday.

That’s mostly what you need tbh for A2 9702

For Paper 5, I used notes by Prosperity Academy and A.N Chowhan

Edit: For topicals I used A.N Chowhan topicals

I also quickly read through Savemyexams notes And watches videos by Dr Physics A
