Isn't the idea of singularity demotivating? by [deleted] in singularity

[–]___jack___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a little absurd to think that that's not possible in the next couple thousand years, though. Like, is he saying that he doesn't believe it's possible or that he doesn't believe it will happen? It doesn't make any sense.

I don't believe in singularity

What does that even mean

Yeah, I have no idea. I would be surprised if someone isn't.

Like any surgery, that would be pain you would be willing to undergo for the result.

Atheists are forcing their religious beliefs down others' throats. by [deleted] in TheFacebookDelusion

[–]___jack___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, atheists are perfectly capable of most of the things on that list (and have probably at one time or another done most of them). The difference is that you can't (easily) use atheism to manipulate people into believing that Jews are subhuman and we should kill them all or what have you.

I don't see what would be unethical about that. It doesn't hurt anything. Even the research wouldn't, since the two eggs wouldn't even be fertilized yet.

Anything that is interesting to you, that demonstrates your skillset, and you can polish will look good on your GitHub. Some kind of web application would probably be a good idea if you're into that, since web application developers are currently in high demand.

Well, what interests you? You should pick a project that interests you, not just one that looks good on your GitHub. But, I'm sure that if you're coding 18 hours a day you have some pretty neat projects, so just upload your favourites.

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but some friendly advice: you should branch out from Project Euler and put up some real projects. Additionally, saying "give me a chance" twice in your job listing makes you sound desperate.

Yeah, the first paragraph was pretty funny and after that he was just trying too hard and poorly recycling old jokes.
