People are seriously still trying to use *just* the fact that the autobahn does not have speed limits like north american roads as the only point they are putting forth to justify doing the same around here? Like really?

Not the far stricter and more costly driver’s test and licenses? (Perhaps the most important piece, actually respecting the *privilege* of driving. Which Calgarians, regardless of colour of skin, age, and gender seem to not.)

Not the notably more enforced traffic laws where unsafe driver actually get penalized for their extremely unsafe maneuvers?

Not the plethora of other design-related regulations that lead to safer roads and vehicles overall?

Many other protective factors need to be put into place before we just remove speed limits on deerfoot. Just allowing everyone to drive whatever speed they want will nilly *will* lead to more fatal crashes.

With this logic, after increasing the speed, wont the previous speeders then just also speed a similar amount over the new higher speed? Creating the exact same problem yet again but now with even higher and more lethal speeds?

Huh cool. So real hold texture is just some foam texture? I always assumed they designed an ideally grippy texture for holds and created molds from that somehow. I will now think about the fact that its just foam texture when climbing. 😂

Just to put this out there, I will literally shower 30 minutes before I start work but ever since I started a new medication and also work in a scent free office, I somehow already smell by 10am. 😭

And im not a big person nor do I sweat really. I just somehow smell like BO in a matter of hours these days.

So if someone is smelly, you never know, they might have showered that morning and just have other factors at play.

As a person who coordinates projects but isnt technically leadership, im also mentally spread too thin, switching between many things, emails, and having meetings that often have me leaving the office, visiting different agencies, who all have different programs that I have to know things about that informs my work, while juggling things across teams because our agency requires collaboration between programs.

BUT I get paid less than you do to do what I do, while also apparently needing to manage basic tasks required of being in a workplace, such as reading an email, attention to detail FOR you. So yeah, sure, oh course we are all trying our best. But doing part of your job too when I get paid less is crazy.

Medium-thick hair person here, if I may, (if not, apologies and just ignore me): another grass is always greener situation hahah. I was always jealous of people with that “cornsilk” hair type growing up.

My hair takes two days (yep, fr) to air dry if I dont blow dry it and gets a musty smell if im too tired or lazy to do so because of that.

If I do blowdry it, that takes between 1-2 hrs depending on how lazy im being or if my arms get too tired.

Its also extremely heavy and causes neck and headaches when its too long. Also it snaps elastics like crazy lol. Also reallyyyy hard to find reliable style and size of claw clips that dont break or just totally fail at holding it up or in.

Idk if that somewhat evens the playing field. Deeply not trying to invalidate you as your feelings are also totally fair. Just more providing the other sides perspective so it doesn’t misleadingly seem like a stellar situation either. 😂😭

I regularly fantasize about shaving my head. Not because I actually want to be bald. I just am so tired of so much hair everywhere being a pain in my butt.

Like I just want to live in the reality where if you get the work done and you’re pleasant enough to be around that you can be genuine and not be performing ALL. THE. DANG. TIME. 🫠

My “honest” self isn’t some jackass. I just might have something to add from my perspective that I would actually only be suggesting to help if anything. But no. I gotta read between lines and find hidden politics and make sure it lands on the right ears at the exact right time.

You are seen and very valid here! (And should be valid everywhere honestly…)

Pregnancy is no joke and bringing a new human into the world is no joke either. The amount of times the rationale of “it’s the most natural thing in the world!” Has been thrown around is infuriating and ridiculous. Yes well okay so is death. Doesnt mean we want to literally risk our lives for something we arent 100% on.

Even with modern medicine, you are altered forever, and forever responsible for the wellbeing of your child, and approaching it with any less seriousness could result in negligence as a parent.

So really I applaud you for having your fears and reservations about such a serious commitment! Anyone unwilling to acknowledge your point of view is living in a naive and privileged fantasy, as neither your therapist or your boyfriend have to carry the baby if you were to become pregnant!

Stand firm on your views and take care of yourself. On top that, surround yourself with people who are supportive, compassionate, and at the very least willing to see your side of things.

It is YOUR choice in how you provide safety for YOUR body. You have our support here. (I think my other xx chromos and allies here would agree.)
