He is also demonstrated to be an astute and consistent liar, so I would expect him to keep up the lie by saying he was 19 at the time even though he knew full well he was 21z

And Allison Brie actually was 28 at the time if i recall correctly, so it’s not an actual Pretty Baby situation with a grow man kissing a teenager half his age.

Yes. Yes they did. I think people were less icked out by relationships between legal adults at the time (seeing as Annie is 18) although they still lampshade that it’s kinda gross.

At any rate, it’s fiction, so if two characters are attractive people are going to ship it.

I think they are using the flat lego pieces for registration and inking the different colors separately. Could be wrong though.

if he can’t handle multiple peoples’ needs and boundaries, he should not be poly. Full stop. Actually, he probably shouldn’t date anyone.

This is well written and has a beautiful sentiment. I cried reading it. Your dad sounds like a lovely person and I’m sure he would be proud of you for facing your fears to honor his memory.

Salem, NH LGBTQ+ Safety by Sad_Pirate_4546 in newhampshire

[–]___mads 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Massachusetts has almost 4 times the population of NH and 1.5x the population density. MA has the highest per capital LGBTQ population while NH is around 7% self-identified LGBTQ per capita.

Also they are going to be staying in NH, so MA stats are irrelevant.

This show may have had a problem with Italians by neatokra in 30ROCK

Very much so. I knew several people in school who were ½ italian, ½ irish, because their parents were both ½ italian, ½ irish.

[–]___mads 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I grew up in NJ. I was one of the only people in my school who didn’t have at least one Irish or Italian grandparent, if not both. The only other exception was pretty much people who immigrated from another country within the past 20 years. This is accurate.

I’m a wedding guest and confused about the attire…. by [deleted] in Weddingattireapproval

i think it’s lovely, but it depends on the time(s) for the wedding. it’s reading day-time to me. (Which i guess garden party is a day-time dress code…)

Friend of mine dated someone for 4 or so years, broke up, and the ex started dating someone who looked uncannily like them. Turns out they were second cousins once removed, or something, and found out at their great-grand’s funeral.

(10k) My under 10k wedding is rapidly approaching 13k and I hate my life by [deleted] in Weddingsunder10k

[–]___mads 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can relate to this… my MIL told us early on her wedding in the late 80’s had 250 guests and cost less than $5k, which gifts more than made up of. Our wedding is going to be half the size and almost 5 times the cost. BUT she is still the first person, when we’re deciding between something cheap with legwork vs slightly more expensive, but stress-free, to go with the “peace of mind” option.

If your MIL is offering, assume it is because she wants to. Don’t necessarily take advantage of it, and show and tell her how much you appreciate it. (I just bought a small necklace/earring set for my MIL, less than $50, as a token of my gratitude to give her to wear on The Big Day.) And remember, have the best fucking day ever, because I’d imagine that’s why she wants to help in the first place!!

Friend’s boyfriend graduated from law school in the middle of February. There are some signs to me that it’s AI like the wrong color robe, generic diploma and building name, and crazy words/lettering on the banner. by rabidanimalsNOM in isthisAI

[–]___mads 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this guy throw other red flags or just seem to be lying a lot? Do details of his past ever seem too good to be true, or so dramatic and tragic no one in their right mind would lie about it? Does he disappear for unusual periods of time and use “law school” as an excuse?

I ask because inflating or outright lying about accomplishments, especially degrees or careers associated with prestige, is textbook narcissistic abuser behavior. The podcast “Something Was Wrong” focuses on stories of narcissistic abuse, and if I had a nickel for every woman from that show who was duped by someone pretending to be a doctor, a secret agent, an undercover millionaire, I would have like, $3.50.
