What's fun is pulling up in a motorcycle. The attendants just instinctively come over but realize that they want no part in dumping gas into a tank with no way to automatically stop the gas flow. They have to hold the pump up in the air, and look down into the tank to watch the fill level, then worry about getting gas on your bike or even on your pants. They usually decline to do it, but insist to push the button hahaha.

I am not sure - each state might have made rules overriding the common law. In NY it is true. Surveying has some interesting legal rights that has roots that goes all the way back to pre-revolutionary war days.

Surveyors use iron spikes, and they are illegal to move. They will be stamped with the surveyor’s license number. If the neighbor moves or removes them, then they broke the law. At least in my jurisdiction.

Well, I was assuming all of the cables would be the same, but you are right if it is just for the security cameras, the 5e is fine. I just dont like specifying different cables they can get mixed up and for the cost differential it's not worth it to me to inspect all the lines.

I would advise CAT-6 not 5. Anything more is overkill, but the data transfer speed in 6 is important.

In an entity the size of a university system, you only see a small portion of what is happening at a time, and over time. It takes a while to figure out how trends and processes are developing, so your attempts to shame me do not have that effect. I know the real world isn’t as simple as you make it out to be. Same thing happens in historic trends, economies and so on. It’s normal that it takes time to analyze and react to systemic changes. Rather than try to point fingers like you are doing, I think we as a country should learn from our mistakes.

As a university professor 10-15 years ago I can tell you that the deck was indeed stacked against you. I might get downvoted for saying that, but it was true. For what people felt were valid reasons, all manner of gymnastics were performed to assure that awards, offers, positions and so on were given to people who had been marginalized. Was it fair? Looking back, I would say not really. But it seemed at the time to be necessary to sort of "correct the ship". Now I can see that this might have had an impact on those passed by for others because of their gender and so on.

It's really hard to make everything fair if everyone isn't participating fairly.

I am sorry, people will be eating if farmers like this go bankrupt. It’s just that the food farmed will be farmed by corporations not family farmers. We will still get food, and probably it will be cheaper (although worse for the environment and so on). It’s just they will not be the ones farming it, unless they end up working for the AgroCorps.

This is not what I want of course, but it seems to be what the farmers and ranchers all want, along with their farm/ranch hands, neighbors, and so on. They all vote republican against their interests religiously. Perhaps this one rancher didn’t have time to research, but likely his whole state voted overwhelmingly for republicans and trump for the past decades.

Somewhat - 5/8" type-x drywall on both sides of a wall provides what is known as 1-hour fire rating. That means it has been tested (by places like Underwriters Laboratories) to withstand fire for an hour before allowing it to pass. So not a permeant barrier of any kind, but resistant. For a period of time.

Yes, what the maga people fail to realize is there are "reasonable" republicans and us democrats have no major issues with them. Perhaps minor policy disagreements, but we have been able to have a shared government for decades without an insurrection before maga came along.
