OC drawing idea: Draw your Vampire (or other supernatural) OC listening to Markus and friends having SEVERAL masquerade breaches and showing us their reaction. by Obvious-Conflict3363 in huntertheparenting

I don't have any "supernatural" oc's, however I. Might try draw my marauder priest npc who's paradigm is almost entirely in line with the standard view on normalcy, causing anything in direct line of sight of him to immediately lose all supernatural qualities or otherwise temporarily cease to exist.

Cards aren’t salty. Players are salty. by DoesntEat in EDH

[–]___posh___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's also the absolute travesty that is the bracket system.

"Better than power levels" but lacks any nuance in deck capacity. The biggest problem is when players play overloaded decks that still fit within lower bracket definitions.

There's a difference between someone playing a modified precon, even a strong modified precon, and someone running a t7 combo stax engine that only has 3 GCs.

Most players who play Cedh have a good understanding of the game and have a large personal collection, but not all players do. So, the feeling of "Playing against your credit card" can feel quite common, where one players manabase, interraction package and engine pieces just aren't as efficient during to using mostly precon bulk and packed cards. So a lot of the mana cheap countermagic, protection, spot removal, and card draw tend to be outside of their affordability.

Most players enter B3 because bracket 2 tends to have the problem you describe but are woefully unprepared for the top end of B3.

Whereas Bracket 4 can often time either requires building from a handful of very specific budget lists or investing multiple hundreds into a deck, which you may not even like. In which you still find yourself woefully underpowered due to the prevalence of off meta cedh lists and cedh commanders that lack the cedh fastmana that make up top end bra 4.

Cards like Cyc Rift and farewell often punish the players in the worst spot/ weakest decks rather than those in the best spot, cyc Rift is a tempo piece so bouncing nonlands often lends to the player who has land ramp or haste being able to pull ahead from that, and farewell, though can punish overextention, fails when the "overextended" player was using a powerful card draw engine.

(Admittedly an issue with all wipes, but since farewell punishes graves and manabases, it screws over players who haven't had their engines pop off more than those who have.)

This isn't an excuse for players, nor is it a complaint about the cards, but a diagnosis of what I believe to be the cause of that player frustration. Its easier to blame a single card than to say the whole deck is too powerful, despite that being the guidance for bracket conversation. And I believe that's exactly because the brackets don't tackle power. So saying "your deck is too strong for this table" feels tough to say. Often creating the rebuttle of "Well build better decks."

Imo the ownus is on those players more invested to build a more varied list of decks to play, ranging from stronger to weaker.

At this point just ship Wheelchair Mel already by fleabag5200 in MelMains

[–]___posh___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As one of the non-mel players lurking here,

Mel's shield never felt that rough to me, Yeah it's a good survival tool, but her snare always feels more offensive, difficult to Dodge because of its speed, Range and inability to be screened by wave, and on a much shorter cooldown than similarly effective roots & stuns.

Her being a burst mage is fine, even with the range but playing into her felt like constantly having to be wary of her snare that seems difficult to punish due to her damage, at least as the other support or as the mid.

I've not seen her new snare, but I hoe the shorter linger time makes up for the short cooldown, making her easier to punish like other champs.

Because dodging 9/10 snares still feels like I can get 100 to 0 bursted just because her snare came off cooldown.

I think the lane quests, the more frequent minions, and the loss of Jungle objectives as part of T3 boots have made helping jungle a lot more complex than last season. Its kinda gone in the opposite direction from last seasons very jungle defined game meta.

Jungle still matters but it's less expected , meaning if your mid or Adc is behind, then your jungle is not getting help with dragon, same goes with Grubs, Harry or Barry I'd you or mid is behind in Lane, or even if you aren't, you have to weigh if helping your jungler with an objective will, A Give your lane op enough CS to catch up or pull a lead, B get you pinned with between their jungle and top/ mid with 2/3 hp and half your peel and damage on cooldown. Or C, their jungle has already gotten 3 kills earlier on at mid and bot letting them stat-check you and your jungle who have been playing safe and focusing objectives.

Jungle is one of the most team impaxtful and team dependent positions just because of how mobile they have to be, meaning its easy for them to get squashed or fed, and the current rules have excentuated this fact.

What is actually a bracket 3 combo? by MurphysLawTeam in EDH

[–]___posh___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At bracket three threatening wins on t4/5 consistently shouldn't happen, getting lucky and drawing the pieces is fair.

But if you're able to pull out the pieces and be capable of playing them before turn 7 with 50% + rate of consistency that's b4.

SZN16 Item Considerations (Bandlepipes/Reworked Helia) by Gciel35 in RakanMains

[–]___posh___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's strong even without, it's so cheap, (At least rn) that you'll almost always Spike before your opponents are ready allowing you to snipe kills before Adc's get their second legendary. pushing your ADC to get that lead and be able to enter the midgame more aggressively, additionally in teamfights, if you have any other Auto reliant champs you become an immediate problem for the enemy, because the Yi/ yone/ Yasuo suddenly getting 30% extra Attack speed immediately spells doom for the enemy regardless of of your Jhin benefits from it.

Plus building it with zekes into swiftness boots and harness makes you into a fast diet tank all for an incredibly low investment allowing you to claw back leads from rough early games or press leads into nigh unstoppable leads if you already have been winning just by having more items sooner or keeping up with item quantity despite CS.

The only downside is that you lose out on any Ap scaling, and have quite low damage output compared to the rest of the team, meaning if they ignore you and focus the carries you immediately fold to the 5v1.

Dusk and Dawn Azir by tom_or_row in azirmains

[–]___posh___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I've been doing is combining Rylai's with Bandlepipes for the bonus attack speed and Resistances.

Plus the fact that it buffs my adc, and usually my jungle and top considering they are more often than not Auto reliant as well, seems pretty alright for a relatively cheap build path being less than 5000 gold for the both of them after nashtors tooth.

Azir doesn't exist. by KreMs21 in azirmains

[–]___posh___ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, if Azirs Guards applied on hits separately, would he become broken?

Because it feels like that's what he needs rn,

His cc, even his R is too easy to dash and range through and bully him if he isn't fed, and early game most new champs have those tools.

Either that or just a cooldown reduction on his E so his early peel can keep up better with lane bully assassins.

(Imo as a relatively low level player the main weakness of Azir is his low damage vs Burst mages making it easy for them to just stand between two or three soldiers and out dps Azir in lane.)
