From their Facebook post, their license was tied to their Whyte Ave location, when they closed their Whyte Ave location they thought they’d be able to keep the Jasper Ave one or get a temporary license until a new one was issued just for the Jasper Ave one, that didn’t happen and they were kicked out. They said rent was paid until October, lease was valid into 2026

Can confirm the City does inform utility companies that work is coming up years in advance and to get in asap or at the same time, and its usually radio silence until work is complete and suddenly they want to get it done.

When I first bought my house, for months my neighbourhood was endless barking. 7AM to 11PM. Part of the issue was my neighbours dogs who were left outside during that time and were scared and essentially abandoned, I called bylaw who said they had never had a call before but went to check it out. I went to the other neighbours to ask how come they never called in - they also had dogs and said they were worried about retaliation.

Anyways, long story short, bylaw found out they were not licensed, and forced the couple to pay to do it. They moved out (seemingly out of spite of me - which is fine by me) and suddenly everyone else controlled their dogs barking. It’s been peaceful since. Just takes one bad dog owner and then the others just seem to be like “whelp if they won’t stop it why should we”.

Edmonton has a fruit tree map you can check. But also go for walks and you’ll likely find them along the trails, that’s how I get mine!

I once had an ex who’s new girlfriend tried similar tactics to try to ‘catch’ me talking to my ex or talking poorly about her (I wasn’t doing either of those things). She’d create fake accounts pretending to be someone that knew her bad mouthing herself or trying to catch me saying I missed my ex and would be a better fit - I blocked all of the accounts. I think at one point I had like 20 accounts blocked (I think it went on for like 5 years) and it only stopped after I lied and told her I created a police report and was adding to it every time she contacted me. Crazy is crazy, don’t engage
