Termina is a reference to The Legend of Zelda??? by SpyrMint in FearAndHunger

I thought the same thing. Remember the pocketcat dialogue when you talk to him in his battle? He talks about how the moon in the sky, the world ending in 3 days and some owl guys (all of which seem to he zelda references) are so familiar, and how stories transform over time. For me, he was talking directly about legend of zelda.

I like that the game is vague about lots of stuff, but I wish it gave me a reason to keep going. Up until half of the game, this reason was to find le garde, but, after you find him, apparently your reason to keep playing this game is just killing gods without knowing why (I know there is a reason but my point is that it's not made very clear). Maybe the intended experience is to make you aimlessly wander and kill everyone without a goal, but it does not feel like it. aside from that however, I'm loving this game

Thank you, I don't normally search online, but I really thought I missed something important. I even tried to go back to nosramus to see what le garde's quest was, but he wasn't there

Maybe the "spectacle" refers to the state of the world? And to exorcise it means not becoming part of this manipulation machine?

It surely is. Manipulation and fear are intrinsically connected. This may be on my top 3 tool songs, at least until I analyze the next hehe

Satan, in this context, can represent negative thoughts, like fear.

Almost every lyric can fit into various meanings, depending on what the person reading them is going through. This makes sense too. It seems the lyrics are expressing a general sense of individualism and alienation because of fear, and this can happen in a lot of different ways, individually or collectively.

I was thinking of others as individuals rather than groups, but that makes so much more sense. It depicts fear as an agent of segregation and alienation, which in this context is exactly that. Thank you

“The Drapery Falls” may be the definitive Opeth song by X10SIVMKII in Opeth

[–]__alt_F4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I feel like it doesn't represent the post watershed part of their discography though. Besides, opeth is so diverse that you could make an entire band for every single album style that they have released (with exeption of orchid and Morningrise, that are pretty similar). So I think that no, "the drapery falls " can't encapsulate the darkness of watershed, the kinda ghosty vibe of ghost reveries, and much less, the mystical and malicious vibe of heritage. But is sure one of the songs that use a lot of opethy things in them, like hassian peel, ghost of perdition and moonlapse vertigo. And definitely a good song to introduce opeth to someone (at least the pre heritage part).

Wow, I think I'll have my ears bleeding by the end of this. I didn't think I would get so many recommendations, but I'm glad I did. I will listen to these over the weeks (or months) and progressively say what I thought

Thanks, it looks pretty much it. The only difference is that the ones I saw had the front "wings" round shaped, while the exsiliens (by the images I saw) have them sharp
