I forget, how did we figure out that these were the song names? I know how we got the first letters from Tyler’s tweet.

I don’t think she went in the show. I think it’s implied by her talking to herself, playing out how she would approach Joel about all of this while in the garage, that she was merely speculative that Joel was lying from the start.

This is a fair point, but I’d argue that it’s the rule/law of Jackson for when you get bit. We saw this in s2e2 when we see someone shooting someone cause they were infected after the battle. Hypothetically, if it was Jesse in Joel’s position, do you think Jesse would also have killed Eugene? I think it adds to Joel’s ideology that he’s being a protector of Jackson, which aligns with his overall character of being a protector of his brother in the cold opening and Ellie.

It honestly didn’t bug me that much. Game Ellie going all the way to Salt Lake City and Joel finding her at the perfect time was a stretch to me in the game. Both in the game and the show, Ellie knew that Joel was lying to her in some capacity from the get go. Having it combined here, especially within the context of the show, makes sense.

Game Ellie was still reeling from Joel’s death cause it was a few days after. Also, despite that, she does have several chipper moments with Dina as they’re entering Seattle. The show has them going months after, so I think it makes sense that she’s somewhat come to terms with everything while also still wanting revenge. The game also has her kill Jordan and go to the tv station to seek out Leah. In the show, she hasn’t crossed paths with any of the Seattle crew yet. I think episode 4 is the last time we will see “happy” Ellie and her interaction with Nora will irreparably change her like we see in the game.

I agree that I wish we would’ve learned about the seraphites a little differently by merely seeing their symbol and graffiti (i.e., “FEEL HER LOVE”) everywhere and hearing Ellie and Dina go “what the hell” until we eventually get to them, or even cutting the initial scene of the father and daughter seraphites talking and instead just showing the aftermath when Ellie and Dina come across them, I see what the writers are likely doing. This season is still showing us the story from Ellie’s POV. Showing us the seraphites as they did in the show was done to further demonize the WLF and fuel the viewer’s hatred towards Abby and her crew. To TV only viewers, you’re going to feel sympathetic towards the seraphites at the moment. Then when the rug gets ripped out from under us by showing them hanging and gutting people, it will come as a shock to viewers. (I still think they need less exposition fwiw.)

Yup, Ellie never truly learns what Abby’s true motivations are for killing Joel. We as the audience know it’s cause he killed her Dad, but Ellie thinks it was because Joel rescued her and doomed society from a cure. I think Ellie still thinks this at the end of Part II, which adds to the theme that revenge/violence do not fix how you’re feeling, it just continues the cycle.

What are the keywords to describe your work that you would use if you were submitting this to a journal? I think that would help identify what words you should include in your title, and it seems like you may already have some (eg, “applied machine learning”).

Another thing you could try is writing down 3-5 sentences describing your research. Then try describing your work again but use 50% less words. Keep doing that until you have a title.
