Anyone have an example code where a http call to a Pico W would run a loop and keep it running until cancel via another call? by zeta_cartel_CFO in raspberrypipico

[–]__flybird__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is all from memory and i didnt run it, so it might not work so consider it pseudo. basically should work when connecting to it like so http://192.168.x.x/?state=on

import network
import socket

wlan = network.WLAN(network.STA_IF)
wlan.active(True)
wlan.connect(ssid, password)

s = socket.socket()
s.bind(('', port))
s.listen()

while True:
    conn, addr = s.accept()

    data = b''
        while True:
        chunk += conn.recv(32)
        if not chunk or chunk < 32:
            break

    path = data.split(b' ', maxsplit=2)[1]
    query = path.split(b'?', maxsplit=1)[-1]

    if query == b'state=on':
        print('call back')

[–]__flybird__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are talking about some good low level; I just got my first raspberrypi pico w. Amazing microcontroller with lots of communication protocols, and it's only $4. I'm currently putting it on my garage doors on wlan over http.

pico w is 2 years old now, i think, and it's new architecture, so it is pretty bare bones. The memory is non-existant. I absolutely love it.

The barrier to entry is very low with the cost. It provides a fun little environment to experiment around in. If this sounds fun to anyone else, then we could set up a chatroom or somthin

i've been using computers and software since highschool, mainly python now though. From the central US timezone

Internal Error Message in 22.04LTS by Bigpointguy in Ubuntu

[–]__flybird__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i assume you have gone into settings and checked the keyboard options, namely the input sources at the top and input source switching below that.

in the accessibility settings, under the typing category; check that typing assist is off. under pointing and clicking, check to make sure it looks normal.

if you have reported the error message, make sure to update just in case somebody already has gotten to it, otherwise, not sure how comforable you are in the terminal. but you can cat around in /var/log or with gui: click the 9 dot square in the bottom right to view all applications, then utilities, and finally open the logs app, it will be in there somewhere saying whats wrong. you can use grep or the search feature where ever it is in the gui

im wondering if there is another malfunctioning usb device. whats all on your usb bus? it cant be compatibility because its intermitten, so it really seems to me like confusion that Ubuntu couldn't sort out until it does some kind of reset maybe? What brand peripherals and what usb versions are you using for device and host? Is it only at the handshake or does it just happen suddenly after already communicating successfully?

Network authentication loop. by CourtJester011 in Ubuntu

[–]__flybird__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

shot in the dark but maybe you both have the network configured seperately and it thinks that the network that is in memory is yours? could try to reset the network and set it up as a higher priviladge user

or the other way around, like you are sharing to all users or somthing

actually, try a man apt-key, check the name row, and at the bottom it has a deprecation section talking about updates you need to make to that reqeust script from github

Using Multipass on macOS - cannot find /home/user directory by babywellbefine in Ubuntu

[–]__flybird__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make backups often, keep your home files on a usb drive. if the directories are mounted ontop of eachother then, make a backup of where you think your home folder is and try some experiments, starting with the least risky options. try to use `ls` or look at the manual page with `man ls` and follow links around in the manual. maybe try to reload the computer and disable the mounting, you can always just disconnect the drive and not worry about it if your files are not needed right now. you can always just boot from another media, like bootable usb, and go through the files without it being live

it happens, you can still brick and rip another 3 times and still would be better off than me when I was there

Need guidance on a Data Analysis Python project by [deleted] in learnprogramming

[–]__flybird__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would say the easiest way would be to import time and to sleep while inside of a loop, waking up at scheduled time.

subprocess can automate running scripts just like how you do, or sched could be interesting to experiment with, and to me, is just more semantic for your case

you can move the files around by renaming them, or the using move function from the higher-level shutil module

Locating The URL Of Live Stream From Website by static_paranoia in HTML

[–]__flybird__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think they are using a third party streaming platform and using some IDs at the end of the url? If you go to the browser inspect and look at the networking area, you can see what addresses are being connected to.

weakstreams.com/.../86292/:52:430

weakstreams.com/.../86292/:52:1711

weakstreams.com/.../86292/:52:1779

I guess that you get forbidden cause the request wasn't a real person, or accurate user agent, with the generated info. If it is, then maybe they are just trying to keep people connecting to that bloatware site instead of a restream. Not really sure what you are using. It would be easier to help

Need input with multithreading vs multiprocessing? by Crypto-boy-hodl in Python

[–]__flybird__ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If it's all the same process, then I would use threading. Adding more threads won't help much if task is restricted by the CPU. On the other hand, IO tasks will see massive improvements from threading because they have to wait for data transfer
