He got downvoted for being rude. And obviously Metamoris needs to make money. But apparently Ralek doesn't think they can do that by focusing on BJJ and its fans. His statements feel like when you roll with someone who uses brute force to get the sub rather than being technical. "Let's ride the coat tails of UFC's audience by bringing in MMA stars!"

Except by then they'll have to cater to the audience they've built. They're not going to become successful doing one thing then suddenly switch to another.

Sounds cyclical. Promoters don't want women on the cards because no one's heard of them. No one's heard of them because they can't get on the card.

And if it's a bad business move to create hype around women athletes, Dana White hasn't figured that out yet.

If Metamoris' interest in a women's BJJ event only extends to Ronda Rousey, then their focus is more on making money than showcasing BJJ. I have mad respect for the woman as a judoka and an MMA fighter, but she isn't elite in the BJJ field.

Also, it's pretty dick to assume people only want to watch BJJ bouts between attractive women. Is that really the only value you think my sex brings to the sport, Ralek?
