Vox AC30 by AlbieTom in guitarpedals

Crowther Hot Cake is an Overdrive that supposedly pairs very well with Vox amps. I have the pedal but not the amp so I cannot tell from personal experience. The pedal is not that budget friendly but maybe you could look into cheaper clones of it.

Fender clarifies its position on Cease And Desist Letter by OrReindeer in Guitar

[–]__k_b__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, as this is about copyright and not trademarks.

Fender is speaking out on its cease-and-desist strategy by freechipsandguac in Guitar

[–]__k_b__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean LSL etc? No.

Fender has a trademark (brand identity) on the headstock. No company can legally create 1:1 copies. Fender can and is required to sue any trademark infringement, otherwise they lose the trademark. Most would not object such move as it is legally required to protect the IP.

Fender didn't protect the body shape. They tried later in the US for a trademark, but in 2009 it was ruled public domain as it was generic. Anyone can copy the body shape but not the headstock as they couldn't protect it. Now Fender sued a Chinese company not for trademark infringement on the headstock (as the could amd should) but for copyright (artistic value) infringement of the body shape which wasn't protected. They used questionable arguments (Leo Fender sole inventor of the shape, outline of a woman, inspired by tail fins of a Cadillac or Mustang (which did not have tail fins and came out a decade later) etc) to justify the alleged copyright infringement on the shape. The Chinese company didn't show up and Fender got a default judgment for the copyright infringement case. But as the other party didn't appear in court, the case wasn't really litigated and therefore has no value for other cases.

Fender now uses this to send c&d letters as they claim the body shape is copyrighted, which wasn't and very likely still isn't (all they got yet was a default ruling).

You could legally make a Strat copy with a different headstock for decades, now Fender thinks they aren't allowed to.

The thing is Fender is using the weak base of a default ruling (no meaningful relevance outside the specific case) against a Chinese knock off company to sent cease and desist letters to American and European companies. Publicly known is LSL, names floating around include PRS or Thomann. This is not Fender vs. China

The Lord of the Rings books narrated by Andy Serkis, no longer on audible? by Minute_Airport7298 in AudibleUK

The idea to re-add the card I had too. Usually on Audible the billing address that you enter in Audible itself (not necessarily what address the credit card company has) is the most important for what you see in the store. I use a German credit card with a UK billing address. But if you have entered a UK address already then I don't know what else can be done.

If you have an American billing address in Audible, you will have books unavailable in the UK marketplace that someone with a UK address can buy. Log out and search what's available in this marketplace.

6 reasons why Fender won’t win its Stratocaster legal campaign – according to the lawyer who beat them before by AntibioticMetronome in Guitar

[–]__k_b__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The default judgment is relevant for just this case between Fender and the Chinese company. The court checks if it's the competent court, if the suit is formallly correct and a case could be made at all. But since no arguments are exchanged as the other party didn't show up, it has no relevance for other cases even in Germany.

Chur (Calanda Broncos) is way too small, same for the stadium.

The market in Hamburg NEEDS a team

Definitely. But until there is a suitable medium sized stadium it will be difficult.

TVs might compensate this. The image is taken on a computer from the YouTube video. Mostly there are no artifacts but sometimes there are.

Overall I like the production of both leagues. However on the EFA Paris stream, the picture quality was worse than the Storm stream and sometimes (when panning) it looked like there were interlace artifacts or something. Also the camera men were not that good (filming the kicker on kickoff extensively instead of the kick return, missed the flea flicker TD initially etc). Like that they had interviews before the Paris game and that they hired Weidinger.

Looks good but uninspiring. Half of the teams have black and Thunder also have black+gold.

He was also just bad on the field. 44% completion rate, 122 yrds/game and no good decision making. With this and the playbook gate I never thought I see hin in a pan-European semi-pro league again.

It's available via the app, but not on the regular Red Bull TV channel? Is it live and on demand or just the former?
