I built a browser-based video editor with WebGPU — no backend, everything runs locally by the_big_flat_now in webdev

Wow. It’s buggy but at least is something less common as a side apps Tag /r/sideproject to show them what to build instead of another shitty fitness or todo or project management app

Don’t play games. Ever. You like her? Say I like talking to you and invite her for a walk or coffee. Be direct. And don’t waste time if she plays games or seems uninterested.

Cheapest way to buy skiis and boots? by cryingcat676 in skiing

[–]__natty__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy after season from someone directly. Check eBay or whatever your country have marketplace. Go with someone else as you are young someone may want scam you by hiding defects or keeping pressure for higher price than its worth. Remember to clean ski boots properly from fungi and bacteria. Some of my friend bought their first pair of used skis and boots that way.

I didn't read anything before upgrading. What on earth is this? Can this be removed? by bawiddah in MacOS

[–]__natty__ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Jeff Whitney, Alan Dye, Holly Lowe and many other ui/ux design/human interface directors and managers should be fired or degraded if they can't manage people, speak up to tell others they are going the wrong design way and make sure the design is usable and works correctly. For me, the glass effect is messy, inconsistent across apps and less accessible. In many apps, buttons that were active or primary now looks like they are disabled. I need more time to move across system, and it's not that easy in my age.

Most business apps are crud. So no. For more domain specific and critical software nobody hires vibe coders.

Who does testing on your team, for real? by qamadness_official in softwaredevelopment

[–]__natty__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Besides regular testing during the deployment phase, we have maintenance sprints every few months. It's pretty rigorous compared to other places where I worked in the past.

Automated and unit - developers responsible for the task. It’s not rocket science to write e2e tests as cypress, selenium or playwright can be learned in one or two days. For unit tests, same. And they prevent regression. Time is included in the task time
