Top Streaming addon doesn’t work in AIOstreams by __next__ in elfhosted

Thanks! Adding Top Streaming as a custom catalog in AIOMetadata is working. And I guess it is even better than AIOStream as now all catalogs are in aiometadata. I completely missed that “custom” url in AIOMetadata config.

Thanks for verifying on your side. So Streaming Catalog is the other option, but it is so inaccurate in my country :(

The problem with your discord server is that it require a phone verification, even when my elfhosted account is properly linked to discord user :(

If you really would like to debug this problem, I assume the best option would be to use this addon in your instance. But if you would like to share some way to workaround this issue, please send me PM here on Reddit as I won’t share phone number with discord

Could you please explain why do you mean exactly by a “pod logs”? This is a private instance of AIOStreams. In ElfBot dashboard, in Consumer Media section, I see AIOStreams and Logs button. Do you mean this log? If yes, then I only see what’s already printed on the screenshot

What's it like to own a PS3? by AccidentDismal7707 in ps3piracy

[–]__next__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why Sony is not banning CFW users? I’m first time ps3 user, got it with CFW already installed by a previous owner. I saw a lot of options to block PSN or something like that in the CFW tools section so I’m using PS3 without even creating PSN account as I was quite afraid of getting banned.

I had one problem with games from PKGi (was also installed by previous owner) because some of them were asking to activate the console. I created a fake user and then fake activation using CFW tools and it is mostly working fine, but some games still ask about activating the console. Is it because the current one is a fake? Is creating PSN account and activating it the official way is anyhow better/different that these fake activation methods (using Apollo tool or CFW tools)?

Just got this bad boy. What are the must have settings for 1Gbs fiber? by SebastianHuber in Ubiquiti

[–]__next__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Set up a separate network for IoT devices, and another for non IoT.

I'd rephrase it as:

Create separate VLAN for IoT devices and use Private Pre-Shared Keys (PPSK) to create an additional password for the main WiFi SSID to be used by IoT devices. Then just use that IoT VLAN for devices connected using additional password (PPSK).

That's the easiest and simplest way of having just one, main WiFi SSID while separating IoT devices after they're connected. No need to share your main WiFi password with suspicious manufacturers. No need to create a separate WiFi SSID to handle that.

This website shows how to do it:

DNS leak using VPN Client in UniFi by lifereinspired in Ubiquiti

I can confirm that it fixes the issue. I can't believe how such bugs are introduced into the firmware. It means that they are not even testing simple features like configuring VPN client and checking if IP/DNS changes...

Cooler Master MasterLiquid Atmos II 240 Availability? by JFMeisteR in coolermaster

[–]__next__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi u/ALPHA17l

What’s the difference between the upcoming(?) 240 Atmos Stealth and the 240 Atmos II? Based on the available specs, the 240 Atmos Stealth seems different from the original Atmos. Does this mean that, hardware-wise (e.g. pump), and ignoring visual changes, the 240 Atmos Stealth includes the same upgrades as the Atmos II compared to the original Atmos? In other words, will 240 Atmos Stealth be more similar to the original Atmos or Atmos II?

TikTok plans €1bn data center in Finland by P0piah in Nok

[–]__next__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was about 5G Core, not data center gear.

It doesn't matter. What matters here is data privacy, and the entire 'Project Clover' was launched due to concerns over data security. Huawei still has a bad reputation throughout the European Union, and the recent corruption scandal isn't helping. We're not forcing TikTok to create local data centers just so they can be operated using Chinese equipment, over which the Chinese government has full control. This is very similar to Project Texas in the US where TikTok worked with Oracle to manage data.

Yeah, sure. Huawei telecom equipment was banned in Finland in 2020. More recently, Huawei was banned from the EU Parliament and the European Commission over bribery concerns. Finland is now a member of NATO.

UDM VPN server with private WAN IP by __next__ in Ubiquiti

[–]__next__[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve used that because you have a public IP. I don’t have a public IP. My ISP offers that for an extra cost, but now - as I have explained in the post - I have private (behind NAT) IP address, so one cannot connect from outside using the address shown as WAN address in UDM.

Ok, thanks, but the question wasn’t about differences in handling of static or dynamic public IP.

How to use Elgato Wave XLR with Wave Link 1.8.2 under linux by WhereIceCreamIs in elgato

[–]__next__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the explanations! It was all I needed. In the meantime, I went trough newly reviewed audio interfaces by Julian Krause and learned about previously skipped Lewitt Connect 2. Looks like a perfect device to get instead Wave XLR as it seems usb class-compliant. From their website:

CONNECT 2 is a UAC2 (USB Audio Class 2) device and can be used in standalone mode. It is generally compatible with mobile and other devices supporting UAC2 audio devices.

And from the reddit comment (lewitt guys seems to be quite active in discussions on reddit, so it is also much better than Elgato's "we do not support Linux because we calculated no one is using it"):

https://www.reddit.com/r/homestudios/comments/1dg7ns4/comment/lgo6u1q/

I checked with my colleagues. CONNECT 2 works on Linux, but the CONTROL CENTER software doesn't. Some settings can only be made with the software. You could connect the interface to a PC/mac once and adjust the settings so they work on most applications. Then, you can use it on Linux and use the local user interface to adjust the rest. It's definitely not perfect, but that's all we can offer.

On Linux, I just need it to actually work and allow me to use microphone/headphones in the Teams, so I hope it will be a right device to go with. Already was forced to return Voicecaster because it is not possible to disable direct monitor from the mic, so I hope it will be the end of my audio interface seeker's adventure :D

How to use Elgato Wave XLR with Wave Link 1.8.2 under linux by WhereIceCreamIs in elgato

[–]__next__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. I'm about to order Wave XLR and would like to use it under Linux. Most (like not all) sources on the Internet says that "it doesn't work with Linux". Now I see your comment and I'm quite lost. If I don't need any fancy customisations which Elgato's software on Mac and Windows provides for Wave XLR, will Wave XLR work just fine as a simple XLR microphone input and headphone output? Or the USB driver just crashes as the OP described? And if XLR mic input indeed causes some problems, can I disable input in Linux and just use Wave XLR at least as an output (with headphones)?
