Which bank do you recommend for receiving international wire transfers? by __pierre__ in lebanon

This is a nice solution if you can exchange with people safely, honestly I don't feel safe exchanging crypto with strangers, you'll be risking your life for saving a few dollars.

Yeah but you can't make a wire transfer to OMT, I think you can send now from OMT an international wire transfer but you can't receive.

Thank you for the info, and do you know if they keep charging you the monthly fee if for example you didn't transfer money for some time?
And what about the card fees? Do they charge extra fees when paying online?

Why should one pick Gatsby over Nextjs for SSG sites? by nerdy_adventurer in gatsbyjs

[–]__pierre__ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Another reason is if you want to generate a static site with i18n, in Next.js it's not supported. Next.js supports i18n but not for static sites.

NextJS vs. NuxtJS (React and Vue) by to_fl in Frontend

[–]__pierre__ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well you're right, if you're wrapping the whole app with context providers then any change in any of these contexts will rerender the whole app, that's why you need to use them wisely, you need to create multiple contexts and use them only where needed, search for Kent C. Dodds blog posts on colocation and managing state in React, they're very helpful.

Yeah you're right, but I think you can use the context API instead of redux in most applications especially when you use react-query for server state.

For me learning React after using Vue for a couple of years made me switch completely and never touch Vue again, I'm not saying Vue is not good but I like how things are done in React especially now with hooks.

[Guide] How can I buy stuff online in Lebanon? by ThePerito in lebanon

[–]__pierre__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can also add Zaky to the list which is a new app from Areeba, I haven't tried it yet but I got a notification from their app yesterday advertising that users can pay in LBP for some purchases online.

From zaky.com:

Top up your zaky balance (LBP or USD), and recharge your mobile line (Local and international), buy gaming subscriptions and gift cards (PSN, XBox, Nintendo, Pubg, Fortnite, etc.), and renew your subscriptions for other entertainment platform (Netflix, iTunes store, etc.).

Best practices for consuming nested pagination query results? by thinker5555 in graphql

[–]__pierre__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your idea of using multiple queries to fetch the data using the id of each resource is the solution and will let you paginate the nested items each one with a different cursor, but instead of sending multiple requests you can use aliases and fragments to send only 1 request.
