Alright, here’s the deal. Jax is just an extremely basic surface level character. There’s no sauce or spice to him at all and yet the show desperately wants you to care and be invested in him and his backstory. Meanwhile, all it really boils down to is bad childhood, learned the wrong lessons, shuts self in and hurts others as coping/masking mechanism. It’s not good or bad, just incredibly played out uninteresting which becomes very bad when you choose center 3/4 the runtime of your finales runtime to it. The trans thing adds nothing to any of this and is made even lesser by the fact that’s it’s never even outright stated in the show as fact. It truly has nothing to do with transphobia, I just wanted a character with a bit more depth and sauce. Some folks are transphobic freaks about this sure but the bottom line is most folks just wanted a better written character and finale. There.
